Aaron Williams walked into kindergarten as a five year old, and turned six during the first week. Aaron is dark skin, short dark brown hair, and taller than the average kindergartener. He was one of the two students that did not attend open house, so it wasn't until the first day of school I met him. The first day of school, I remember that he walked in very quiet and shy. I later learned he had not attended pre-school, which meant the first of school was literally his first day. Throughout the days I have noticed that Aaron is very timid. He doesn't participate in brain breaks, he stands in his carpet square as he watches everyone else with his hands in his pockets. Aaron follows all the rules accurately and he is not one who would get in …show more content…

Michael Thomas a 23-year old, 6’3, 209 pound dynamic wide receiver out of Ohio State. Look at any mock draft, any big board, or any prospect rankings and look for Thomas. What do you see? I looked at a combination of over 100 different mock drafts, big boards, and player rankings, and much to my surprise, on average Thomas was rated as the sixth best receiver in the draft.

Aaron Maybin and Peyton Manninng have been idealistic all through their careers. Both athletes were constantly positive and confident about one-self. Manning never surrendered, in the wake of experiencing harsh times and wounds people would think he would return unproductive. As indicated by the first article, paragraph 7, "Few expected him to return to greatness after the 2011 neck surgery.... Instead, Manning went 50-15 in Denver, won his 5th MVP and broke numerous records." Manning did not permit something little to cut him down, rather he was positive towards it and accomplished more greatness. Aaron Maybin likewise was confident and certain when he deserted the NFL. Individuals would criticize him for leaving such popularity and turn into
Cathay Williams, born into slavery in Independence, Missouri in September of 1844, was determined to become more than a house slave. In 1861, the Union Forces captured slaves as “contraband” and forced them to serve the military in roles such as cooks, laundresses, or nurses (“Cathay Williams”, n.d.). At the age of 17, Cathay was forced to serve the 8th Indiana Volunteer Infantry Regiment where she travelled alongside the Soldiers to Arkansas, Louisiana, and Georgia. It is believed when Cathay was in Little Rock, Arkansas; she came across African-American Soldiers that influenced her decision to become a Soldier. On 15 November 1866 (at the age of 22), Cathay Williams commenced her ruse of enlisting into the Regular Army as William Cathay for three

Many of you have heard about Ricky Williams, as he infamously gave up a promising career to smoke pot. This is not another Ricky Williams, but someone who believes so strongly that marijuana should be allowed in the NFL it led to his retirement. Eugene Monroe: at 28 years old he played his last down in the NFL. After speaking out about the corrupt NFL drug policy Monroe was cut from the Baltimore Ravens. After constant use of opiates to treat his pain, he tried the Earth’s natural medicine: marijuana. He came to a conclusion that marijuana worked just as well as the chemical opiates, if not better. Although his decision to speak out about it may have cost him a lot of money and a promising career, he doesn’t regret becoming standing up for
Anson Jones was an important part of the annexation of Texas. Without the help of Anson, it wouldn’t have been possible for Texas to be annexed to the U.S.

William Wells Brown was born a slave but died a free man. He wrote an autobiography about his life as a slave. He went into detail of how he and others were treated so cruelly. His master had owned forty slaves, they lived on a rather large plantation and their main production was of hemp and tobacco. This plantation was located some forty odd miles from St. Charles, Missouri. The master had no family but kept a female slave in the house with him to oversee the plantation. Every morning at four, a bell would sound, this was the signal to get up, eat and get to work. If any slave was late to the fields they would immediately receive ten lashes from the negro-whip. Brown was not a field slave so he had only heard and witnessed from a distance of this lashing. He
Aaron Hines, a freshman at Fairmont State University, says that one of his fondest memories of childhood is when his grandfather decided that the family should purchase cows to add to the family farm. Aaron, his grandfather, and other members of family spent an entire summer building two fences to keep the cows in the yard. Many mistakes, along with memories, were made during the process but by the end of the summer, the fence was successfully constructed. Hines, an 18 year old student who loves theater, considers himself to be, of many things, family-oriented, hardworking, and kind. He, unlike most, grew up on a farm where he continues to live rather than stay on campus. Although Aaron’s major is undecided as of yet, he hopes that his hard work this year may steer him in a more specific direction.
Erastus Williams moved to Plainfield Vermont in 1813 with his family from New Hampshire and originally Quebec. He kept a journal of this life starting when he was 24 years old and continued it for 13 years. He chronicled his life as a farmer in Royalton Vermont. Made notes of his wife, Charlotte Stafford, and their five children. He wrote of his religious experiences in his town, about work on the farm and about the stresses of his tasks (Erastus P. Williams Diaries). In 1835 Williams feels blessed to have a home to call his own. On may 6th he writes “Isabel came to make a visit to me, the first time she was ever in my house – my house – and have I a house of my own? Yes, I am a slave to no one but myself now” (Albers). Towards the end of his

Marijuana, also referred to as Cannabis sativa, is a drug whose leaves and other parts of the hemp are smoked to cause an effect that is usually referred to as “high” by most people. Since the existence of the drug became known, the issue as to whether marijuana should be legalized or not is a debate that has been highly contested. Regardless of its negative effects, marijuana has been tested by the American Society and proven to be beneficial. The core purpose of the essay is to elaborate why marijuana should be legalized in all states in the US.
Religion has and always will be a large impact on the world and the people around it. Polytheistic religions, at least in my opinion, make one of the greatest impacts. The reason they have such an influence on the people is because they put gods into everything, if you believe a divine deity is in something like a chair you are going to respect the chair much more than if it was just a chair. You will sit in it, treat, and enjoy it much differently than thinking of it merely as a means to comfort you. Buddhism is one of the greatest religions that have respect for things around them. Buddhism is about being one with the spirit of the world. Reaching to your highest point, becoming better and better and better versions of yourself.
