Child Abuse & Neglect This is a very sad and upsetting topic and sadly there are ways many people can relate to this topic my mom works at a daycare in Midway, NC, there have been times in her career where she has had to report bruises and marks found on children in her classes. This is a hard and sad thing to hear about so close to home, when she tells me these things about children I used to go play with and help watch in her class it truly breaks my heart. There is never a case that a young child deserves to be abused, people need to understand there 's a huge line between disciplining and abusing. There are many problems with abusing and neglecting children besides the obvious reason, hurting the kids.

Some scratches or scars can very well be temporary but the trauma the children experience will never leave.

Often times when children are abused or neglected its by family or someone the child trusts, It often times occurs when the family is in poverty or there are drugs or alcohol around. It is a major problem when family members notice that a child is being abused and/or neglected and they chose not to stand up for the child, most times young children will not even know that there is nothing wrong. It can be hard to notice “[But] Being able to recognize the physical effects of abuse can be crucial in identifying an abusive situation and taking steps to protect a child from further abuse or neglect” (Effects of child abuse). An abuser will make the children think they are playing some type of game or that what they are doing is okay, in some cases abusers will tell the children that they will get in trouble if they don’t do whatever is being asked. They could go as far as threatening the child if the child refuses to comply. It’s important to take care of cases like this immediately “Research has found that children exposed to violence or abuse, if left unaddressed or ignored, are at an increased risk for emotional and behavioral problems in the future” (Describing the problem). No child should ever have to go through these things much less have anyone to talk about it with and help them get through the terrifying

Children are endangered when they are abused, Children that are abused as a kid typically later on in life abuse there children, It doesn't matter in what way the child was abused, it scars them for life. Out of the people we come in contact with everyday there is a good chance that a number of them are being abused or have been abused.

There are many types of ways that children get abused. Some are physically abused, others are sexual abused and the rest are emtionally abused. No matter what way that it is, it's not right and should be stopped and spoken about. Many children who don’t speak out about it is because they are either terrified or don’t feel safe when the topic is brought up. That is why it's up to others to speak out to people who are going through this so that they can see that they aren't alone and that their type of abused can be stopped.
I have learned that most children are abused by someone in their family. Some children are abused by their parents, but if you asked them about it, they will deny of such things because they love their parents, and they are afraid of them. They will not stay anything about the way their parents treat them, and not even to their friends. It is becoming hard for child protective service to protect children if they are refusing to talk about their parents hurting or abusing them. If a neighbor or family member happened to see something like this and report it, is when they child can safe from any harm.
Every ten seconds a new report of abuse is made. That is one-hundred twenty reports in just one hour! The amount of abuse is extremely high and not looked at and taken care of as closely as it should. Not only does the abuse effect the children it also costs the United States money, one-hundred twenty four billion in 2008. Abuse occurs in every culture, it does not matter the ethnicity, economic class, work, or education level (National Children Abuse Statistics). The abuse of children is everywhere and is leaving children with horrible memories and traumatization into adulthood.

Child abuse is one of our nation's most serious problem. Child abuse occurs within ethnic groups, religion, culture and even in education. Neglect of children and child abuse is a cause of emotional, behavioral and medical disorders like drug and alcohol addictions. Child abuse is a non-accidental act by any caretaker. Child abuse has many solutions that have advantages and disadvantages. Some caretakers use discipline to get away with abusing a child and so it's only important that we know the signs of child abuse so we can prevent child abuse in our communities

The spirits of children are shattered, tender hearts broken with words, and precious bodies riddled and limp from abuse. Eyes that should glisten with wonder and excitement are enveloped with dismay and destruction. Fathers physically beat their little girls. Mothers leave newborns in locked cars, and some parents degrade their children with verbal daggers. Child abuse is much more serious than people want to believe. Child abuse comes in different forms: neglect, physical, and verbal abuse. But what are even more serious are its effects: inability to properly function in society, fear of trust, and a broken self-esteem. We should all be there to help these children, by holding their hands, or even giving them a sincere smile.
When a child is abused, they almost instantly lose the dignity and respect that they are entitled to as a human being. Having to go to school or any public place for that matter, with marks and burses on their body is just demeaning and humiliating. Then there is the fact that discipline combined with not enough attention caused an increased amount of chance of behavioral problems. So in a way you are setting your child up to get in trouble at school or work. When parents do not know what to do they spend thousands of dollars to attend Tough Love Courses to try and fix a problem that does not exist in the first place. Having their child be put through something they will not understand because they are not bad kids. People waste all of that money to fix their child, when they could just be spending time with them instead and seeing that they are perfect just the way they are.
