What would you say to the girl who was raped and is pregnant? Would you say that she couldn't have an abortion, or would you tell her to suck it up and have a child? Abortion is a very controversial issue in the United States of America. Many people say that abortion is murder, but women should have a say over their own bodies and financial needs. Many studies show that women who are denied abortions are more likely to become unemployed, abuse their child, and have financial disadvantages. These are all unhealthy consequences when a woman is denied an abortion.

Last year, 702,000 children were neglected and abused from the ages of 1 to 17 years old. Statistics show that women who are denied abortions and have the child are more likely to abuse their kid because they are unwanted. Abuse is disrespectful to anyone and everyone. Many people think that abuse is only physically, but there is also emotional and mental abuse. These types of abuse are sometimes worse than physical abuse because although their own physical bodies don’t hurt, they still have the feeling of their parent telling them that no one loves them. They are scarred by this disrespect and it carries with them forever,. Abuse can also cause types of diseases such as depression, suicidal thoughts, or even suicide in itself. The main reason that abuse happens is because the child is unwanted, and so when a women is rejected or turned away from an abortion, the child that is brought into this world that they think is happy is left in a world where it’s not.

Think if you had only 6 dollars, and a baby who needs clothes, food, blankets, a place to sleep, diapers, and other essential needs along with what you need to survive. Would you have enough money for all of those things to keep your baby alive, to keep you alive? Financial struggles are one of the consequences of the illegalization of abortion.
