Abortion has been a delicate, heavily debated topic for years. It has not only been a heated topic in the religious aspect of the world, but in the political aspect as well. Political figures around the world have been faced with the task of figuring out how to handle abortion. Many countries even have laws in place describing what can and cannot be done.
There’s an article on Malaysian abortion laws. Malaysia has relatively liberal abortion laws in that they permit abortions for both physical and mental health cases. There are also many parties that seek to have a voice in this debate on abortion. These groups range from religious, political, women’s rights, medical and pharmaceutical. Each group has their own personal agenda when it comes to the issue of abortion. Some of the groups which were formed are the National Right to Life Committee, Students for Life, 40 Days for Life and Live Actions, Susan B. Anthony List, and Concerned Women for America, just to name a few. However, the one point that they all agree upon is the right to an abortion in cases of rape or fetal abnormality or to protect the health of the woman.
The issue of abortion is like a tree with several branches that reach out in several directions. No one can determine which branch is leading in a safe direction because there can always be more than one safe branch. Which is the reason why the issue of abortion will continue to be an issue that will keep the controversy going for quite some time and wage war in our judicial systems for some time.
