Abortion I chose to write about the topic of Abortion because it is something most everyone has a strong opinion about, you either fight for or against it, or not at all but I am sure you have an opinion. As a woman whom has gone through an abortion and not afraid to say it, of course I have a strong opinion but that doesn’t mean I don’t think it can be abused. I often find myself thinking about all the other situations girls and women are often in and find themselves making a hard decision. What rights should we have? Should we be ashamed? Is it moral? These are just a fraction of questions to be answer but if I know one thing I believe women have a right to decide what to do with their own body. No matter what I believe there is …show more content…
A large population doesn’t think men go through much when being involved with an abortion but that is a stereotype. Many men go through the same emotions as women, such as guilt or constantly thinking if you made the right decision. It is also common for the father to want more rights in the decision but it is ultimately not his. Right along with the men, women too have to make a decision, the most common I found are; youth, financial reason, emotionally unstable, rape or just not interested in having children. All in which seem valid reasons. It may seem like a no brainer to some when considering the many options on getting an abortion but what about the people who abuse abortions? Upon research I found many women who’ve had 7 or more abortions are more likely sexually abused, but that was only one quarter of women getting abortions. The other 3 quarters just astonish me and that’s when I can start see outsiders getting upset, although at the end of the day it is none of their business… that sure doesn’t stop them. People such as Fred Phelps whom picket abortion clinics are the lowest of low in my book but something drives them to go out of their way to express their opinion on this topic. With religion being a big portion of their reasons behind making a difficult decision into a
One of the most debated issues in America is abortion: Pro-life or pro-choice. This is a decision that each person has to make for him or herself. Many people say that abortion is the woman's choice. I firmly believe, however, that if the woman is willing to have sex, she should be willing to suffer the consequences. Being a female myself, I am now with the consequences of choosing to be sexually active. But after hearing that innocent heartbeat, I know it will be worth it. Not everyone feels this way. Over one million babies will be aborted this year because of the careless actions of the sexually active. When Roe v. Wade legalized abortion, it was because a woman was raped and became pregnant due to those unfortunate circumstances,
It is saddening to see humans of the female gender, who find themselves in a situation that requires introducing a new life into the world; to abort such a precious gift. Many may wonder how these poor, innocent, unborn children are then discarded after the abortion procedure. One cannot fathom the reason of these gruesome murders that happens within these medical facilities. Babies are disposed in the red waste bins of these facilities, and later incinerated. Some may either be flushed down garbage disposals or even be sold off for research purposes. The issue of abortion is not just a social one, but also a human rights issue among the unborn children. I believe if the human rights of these children has been violated, then
Abortion has taken the lives of more than 50 million babies since 1973 (“About Abortion”). The issue of abortion is one of the most common controversial issues in American politics and culture. In modern society, many women that have an unintended pregnancy and they result to abortion without researching other options. Abortion is not a substitute for birth control and this issue should be taken seriously. The individual woman needs to understand that by agreeing to have an abortion she is agreeing to kill an innocent fetus. Abortion rips the unborn child from his or hers right to life. Society needs to let women see through the eyes of the fetus and find alternative ways to raise the baby. Abortion should be
The ongoing dispute of abortion has condemned the idea of women aborting their unborn child. Whether it be lack of support, critical physical or mental health, rape, or not being ready for such responsibility - all women have a reason for having an abortion. Therefore, women should have the free will to do what proves necessary and beneficial to themselves and their pregnancy.
Abortion has been one of the biggest controversies of all time. However many People agree to disagree on whether abortion is a legal or illegal matter. Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy through removal of the embryo or fetus. I support abortion for the following reasons. Birth control failure, unable to support or care for a child, to prevent a child with birth defects or medical conditions, and a pregnancy in resulting from rape or incest. A woman should have the right to do what she pleases with her own body. For example, say a woman is pregnant with no desire of keeping the child and there was no clinic to help her remove the fetus. She’s most likely going to obtain matters into her own hands and figure a way to abort the fetus herself. Why put women in that situation when they have highly trained doctors who can remove the fetus using the proper tools with no harm done to the mother?
Imagine someone told you that you could only to wear a certain pair of jeans. Someone else decided for you whether or not you can wear any other pair of pants. How would that make you feel, how would you react? What if those circumstances involved a baby and someone said you had to carry and give birth to it even if you don’t want to. Society has benefitted through the access government approved abortions clinics giving women the opportunity to overcome teenage pregnancy, significantly reducing health risks, and defeating after effects of rape.
Many differences of opinion arise in regards to abortion, including the obvious “pro-life or pro-choice” question many people have defiant answers to. Abortion is a topic that most every person has a very strong, firm stance on, resulting in a worldwide debate of the matter. Differences of opinion persist within both movements. “Some pro-life activists may condone abortions in cases of rape or incest, while others take an uncompromising stance, believing that all abortion is murder” (“Abortion”). Most pro-life thinkers state that it is inhumane and immoral to abort a fetus under any circumstance, yet it is very important that the woman has the right to make her own decision based on her situation. If a woman needs to have an abortion, she
Women can do whatever they want to do because it’s their body. The woman is the one who goes through the abortion procedure. If the mother couldn’t choose and have to carry the baby to term, she would either have to quit school or even quit your job. “Forty-three percent of women quit their jobs for a period of time when they are pregnant” (Light, 1). If women can’t have control of their reproductive system or their body, then they don’t have the equal rights that men do. Around 32,101 women get pregnant from rape each year. Due to this 50% of them get an abortion. This could go up if women could not choose for themselves. Overall,I think women should choose what they want to happen with the baby and their future because it’s their own
Abortions is one of the most controversial topics in today 's society; however, it 's not usually discussed, which makes it hard for people to express their opinions on the topic. Growing up in a Christian family, I was always told that abortions were not a good thing. However, I also grew up being told that god did not want us to judge anyone because that was his duty not ours. So, as I got older and realized I wanted to become a doctor, my views changed on this topic because I now knew I wouldn 't be able to tell someone what they could or could not do with their body. I also knew even if abortions are morally wrong in my eyes, it does not mean that they are wrong for everyone because we all have a different life growing up, different
Abortion is a topic that is controversial to many. There are people who believe that abortion is a sin and that women who do this, are vile and sickening humans. Women get abortions for many different reasons and that should be their choice. It is no one else’s decision because it is not their body that is going to have to go through that.
People will always be divided by their belief of if and when a fetus becomes a person. Many states have posed draconian amendments to the Plan Parenthood vs. Casey ruling, which maintained the legality of abortion, but opened to states to put their own standards to when a woman can receive an abortion. However, many states have placed draconian standards that make it extremely hard for women to receive legal and medically safe abortions. My opinion of abortion is mixed. I understand that abortion is not something that should be gotten at will and is a very personal and deep issue for the women who get them. Even though abortion might be morally questionable, I want it to be legal and safe for those who choose to get one. My opinion is very passive, because as a man, I cannot in good conscience tell a woman that she can’t or cannot make a certain choice for their own bodies. I think men should remove themselves from the national conversation, because we cannot truly understand the psychological nature of something as personal as contemplating an abortion. People shaming women who have to go through something like an abortion is very sickening in our society. Crisis Pregnancy Centers are one of many ways people take advantage of women. Joannides (2013), advises that, “women stay clear of these places as, they prey on women dealing with getting and abortion” (p. 823). Ultimately, abortion is a safe, but controversial method of dealing with
What are the ethics of Abortion? I believe ethics of abortion is a controversial topic, in which it involves the act of removing a fetus from the womb of a woman’s body. This bioethical issue has been an ongoing debate for over forty years now. For many people, abortion is a moral issue, concerning the rights of a fetus and a woman’s right over her own body. What are your moral beliefs about abortion and a woman’s right to having one? I am a Pro-Choice supporter. I believe a woman has the right to make the ultimate decision on what she wants to do with her own body-safe and legally. However, I don’t believe that abortion should be used as a form of birth control or contraception. Society today, approaches discussions about abortion with caution; for many in society today, believe that it’s an act of murder and against all Godly ways. On the contrary, others like myself believe that under certain livelihood circumstances, the right to terminate an unwanted pregnancy should be a
Abortion rights are one of the most heatedly debates in society. There are many arguments for and against abortion. Each woman has the right to an abortion and the right to have a child. Women have the resources, rights, and respect to make reproductive health decisions that are best for themselves. (“Women’s”) We live in a free country and women should continue to have the choice to do whatever with their body, concerning women’s rights, health issues, and religious reasons.
The Ethics Of Abortion is a very controversial subject that has been continually argued over for the past few years and probably many more years to come. The main controversy is should abortion remain legalized? Before we get into the many sides of abortion we must first define abortion. Abortion is the destruction of the fetus or unborn child while the child is still in the mother’s womb. This can be done by almost anyone from the mother herself to back alley abortions and even to abortions by clinics set up especially for this purpose. There are two sides to this abortion topic, the PRO-LIFE, which is those who are against abortion altogether and the PRO- CHOICE or those who believe it is the woman’s right to
The right to an abortion is a right that women should have. Many women face difficult situations where they find themselves needing to have an abortion. It is up to a woman to choose what is best, according to her, for her life. Modifications to one’s body is allowed, and abortion is just another modification. Women should build one another and not tear each other down by judging each other’s decisions. Women, who decide either to have an abortion, make a life-changing decision that everyone should
