f there is one thing that everyone can agree on, it would have to be that no matter where you are in the world, there is always going to be disagreement. Today’s society is made up of such an abundant number of controversial issues. One of the most controversial issues being abortion- the act of intentionally termination a pregnancy resulting in the death of the fetus (Kreider, A. personal communication, March 24, 2011). Abortion is both constitutionally and morally wrong, and should be illegal in the United States in all but two cases: if the mother was raped (and pregnancy was as a result of the rape) or if the mother’s life would be put in endangerment by the pregnancy. Since it treats the fetus merely as cells, not as a person. Need there be more proof that abortion is unconstitutional and should be outlawed. Have you ever stopped to think that abortion not only takes away the innocent life of a baby, but also puts the mother’s life in danger? Woman who have had abortions greatly increase their risk of medical complications. After the mother has had an abortion she is 8-20 times more likely to have an ectopic pregnancy (Monahan, 2006). An ectopic pregnancy is when a pregnancy is formed outside the uterus, majority of the time in the fallopian tube. This can cause a rupture of the fallopian tube to occur as the baby begins to grow, and if not discovered in time can cause the mother to bleed to death. Further complications can appear due to abortion like: bowel injury, placenta previa, perforation of the uterus, and infection. It is nor fair for feticide (abortion) to be legal because it creates countless medical complications for the mother that can potentially lead to death. A study has shown that women who receive abortions have a 30% increased risk of breast cancer (complications of, 2003). In addition, if a woman who underwent abortion would like to have a child later in life, she would have a doubled chance of having a miscarriage. The mother would also have problems with bleeding throughout the pregnancy, the chance of having a low weight birth baby increase, and she would have difficulties during delivery. We all know what
