We obtain the feeling of spring when King describes the weather in this section: “The air soft and beautiful, the sky was darkening by slow degrees from blue to the calm and lovely violet of dusk” . The spring symbolises hope and joy and make the atmosphere calm contrary to the dark streets in the night that obtain a more scary atmosphere when there suddenly are less people than on the big avenues.
While Carnatic music is sung and performed in only one style, there are various styles of singing and performing in Hindustani music. Each style of school is called a ‘gharana’.
Overall this tribe has a lot of rich history that they are keeping strong. Their website was extremely informative and shows they take great pride in who they are and their history. The tribe keeps who they are alive by focusing on passing down information though legends and teaching young members basket weaving. These are both ancient practices for this tribe and it is amazing that they still matter so much to the members of the tribe. This is a strong group of people who are determined to keep their traditions and culture

Mirabai’s life and devotional practices serve as a model of the spiritual path of bhakti yoga. Initially considered mad, Mirabai brushed off any hostilities and danced with a blissful ecstasy in the streets (Fisher 105). She paid little heed to social conventions and described herself as, “defiant of world censure or family shame” (Fisher 105). Free from societal constraints, Mirabai sung devotions like, Without Krishna I Cannot Sleep, during her time as a wanderer around 1500 and 1550.

I believe that the Makah Indians should be granted the wavier to continue to hunt whales. Particularly, since the U.S Government signed the Neah Bay Treaty in 1855 with the Makah people, stating that it was OK for the Makah Indians to continue to hunt for fish, seals, whales, in exchange for 500 acre of their ancestral land. I feel it is only fair for the U.S government to keep their word and continue to let them hunt. In addition, the Gray Whale population has risen tremendously since 1926 and hunting 5 whales per year will not cause anymore damage. It is also very apparent that the Makah people care about the whales and don't view them as just an animal to kill because they volunteered to momentarily end their whale hunting in order to save the species when the whale species nearly went extinct. In conclusion, no part of the whale is wasted, the Makah people find uses for all parts of the whale.

On the night of November 11th, I attended Divahn’s performance at the Gamble Auditorium. Their music featured Middle Eastern, Latin, and Indian styles, and the vocals were sung in various native languages of the Middle East. Although I could not understand the lyrics, the music was able to demonstrate the emotions of the piece effectively, so that I could understand the content of the music.
The idea of song among the majority of Native Americans is pretty short and to the point. Songs consist of short, easy to remember phrases. They aren't just for ceremonial purposes, but for everyday life as well. They are important during religious or spiritual ceremonies. During these events, however, most songs are designated a time in which they will be performed.
With lyrics such as “Un dayn mame, oy dayn mame, Kumt shoyn keynmol nit tsurik: lyu, lyu,”
With every end, there is a beginning. When the cold winter ends, there is a new beginning in nature where the trees and flowers start fresh as they grow once again. The poem “Spring”, takes us, readers, to a setting where the place shows complete nature. We are to imagine aesthetic scenery where spring has arrived and everything that happens during this season is happening right in front of us.
As this song is originally written by him, it gave deep impact not just to my mind but to my heart too. Actually the singer of this song, Kim Jonghung passed away recently as he committed suicide due to the depression that he suffered for quite long time. After knowing about that news, I heard this song for one more time and I ended up crying like crazy for almost one hour and over. It is because the lyrics and melody of the song really deep and full of sorrow. Actually I am the one who not really cry just for a song or movie, but this is my first time having this experience. I just realized after his death that most the song that sang and written by him are related to his depression. It looks like he wanted to convey his feeling through the song as he such a cheerful guy in front of cameras. Unfortunately, most of his friend and fans did not realize that and he chose that ways to end up his depression and loneliness. This tragedy makes me noticed that we must always concern to people surroundings us as we do not know what is inside their
