November 8 this year Abraham Lincoln was reelected as the 16th president. Despite the ongoing war we are going through Lincoln still is president. He won by the faintest sliver. Not only were his opponents assured of a victory, his own party doubtful of his victory. The national union candidate ,Lincoln, was running against George McClellan ,the democratic candidate from New Jersey. The turnout was 73.8%, and even though the popular vote was a close shave, Lincoln got 212 electoral votes while George McClellan got 21.
