Just after 10:15 p.m. on April 14, 1865 on a Good Friday, 150 years ago today. President Abraham Lincoln one of the greatest President in history, was fatally shot in the back of his head while attending a play at the Fords Theater in Washington D.C. on April 16, 1865 by John Wilkes Booth (Norton, 1996). President Lincoln was 56 years old at the time of his of death (Norton, 1996). As the United States come together as a nation to observe the 150th Anniversary of President Lincoln untimely death, and the first President of the United States to be assassinated. Lincoln legacy still lives on in the heart and the minds of Americans and the nation. Social justice can be seen through the civil rights act, the Civil Right Act was part of Lincoln’s intent that everyone would have human equality. President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation not only initiated the process for the freedom of African Americans, but allowed them to fight in the war, even in 2015. President Lincoln was a strong advocate of the Thirteenth Amendment that prohibited slavery in all states (Norton, 1996). Lincoln’s legacy inspired President Barack Obama during his presidential campaign that spoke of President Lincoln leadership skills, and his integrity, and compelling personality, that were all an inspiration to him, President Obama looked onto Lincoln as being his role model (Norton, 1996). Lincoln tenacious and abilities as commander in chief through the Civil War has sustained throughout history, and his decisiveness to fight and reserve the Union resulted in the United States of America to still remain as one nation (Norton,
