Ever since I was young, I was exposed to a Historically Black College or University, Jackson State University. I had always went to activities and functions such as football games, summer programs, and other special events. I did not know whether I would attend a historically Black College or University (HBCU) or not at the time. I had finally decided to go to a HBCU, and I would attend Tougaloo College in the fall to further my education. I have many goals and objectives for pursing my educational experience at a historically Black College, and I plan to achieve them.
College is expensive. No one can pay for it by themselves unless they’re a millionaire. What about the people who actually need help? I am one of those people. If given a scholarship, how will it benefit my education? If I was given a scholarship, it will benefit me in reaching my educational goal by motivating and pushing me to do better to make the organization proud and it will grant me the ability to get everything I need because it will not have any limitations to what I can do with it.
To begin, I would like to express my passion for pursuing a college career. Since I was very young, one of my top goals has always been to have a job that I enjoyed going to everyday. Furthermore, when I started high school I knew I had to commence working towards that goal. Consequently, I had no idea of what kind of job or career I would enjoy, this in turn made me slack off, and not care much about my first two years of high school. Eventually, I took an automotive class at the technical careers high school, and as a result, I knew I wanted to work with cars everyday. Moreover, I took an opportunity that has changed the course of my life drastically. henceforth, I have read and researched many colleges and their programs, and BYU-I stood
I would consider myself very an incredibly driven person, both academically, and in my personal goals. Throughout my educational career, I have consistently strived to achieve the most I could. For me, this meant high academic achievements, honors accolades and achieving the goals that I set my mind to. I have a very strong intrinsic drive to seize every opportunity I’m given. To guarantee I didn’t close any doors to my future I applied to as many colleges as I could instead of staying in my comfort zone and applying to schools I was guaranteed admission to. One of the biggest ways that I am a go-getter is the fact that I faced rejection head on from top schools in the country. For me, it was better to try than always wonder “what-if” even though the process became extremely disheartening at times. I pushed myself throughout the admissions process to have as many opportunities as possible. Additionally, I have an innate desire to learn new things and grow through my education. I have pushed myself to take challenging Advanced Placement electives in subjects I am passionate about and I am eager to begin college to continue increasing my knowledge in certain fields. In college, my biggest goal is to graduate in three years. While this new challenge may be difficult to achieve as my degree plan involves two majors in Anthropology and Communications and a minor in Interdisciplinary Studies I also understand how rewarding it will be to complete my studies in an
Education has always been a major part of my life. While growing up, I always knew that I would graduate from high school and then continue my education in college. That has always been my plan and now I am making it a reality by attending college here at Utah State University. There are many reasons as to why I am here. The first reason would have to be that I made a goal when I was younger that I would attend college. I am very dedicated to any kind of goal that I make and going to college to pursue a career that required a higher education has always been a dream of mine. I like a challenge and I feel that not just anyone can come to college. Those who attend college need to have the right mindset to have the motivation and dedication
I set a goal to further my education by enrolling in college before I turned twenty five. I was on call 24 hours a day as tow truck driver at the time not leaving me time to meet the time frame of that goal. I did not completely give up on that goal and have currently met it. The reason I was eventually able to reach this goal is my unwillingness to give up on the things that are important to me. Even if things don’t go exactly how you plan you should not give up on
There is a saying in society “if you are poor you will stay poor.” The United States have said “You have the freedom of changing your classification in your social status.” People close to me have said “as long as it’s something you want, anything is possible.” With the given information, the choice I’ve made was to change my written destiny and make my mark on earth. The path I am willing to take isn’t to benefit my life, but to give back the people who gave me everything I could ever ask for.
One challenge that I expect to face in college is trying to take on too much responsibility without having enough time. Clubs, college applications, and taking 21 credits my second semester has cluttered the past two years of my life. My time management will drastically change at the University of Pittsburgh. The Missouri Academy has prohibited holding a job, joining a sports team, or even owning a car. I have found it beneficial to focus solely on academics, but I am expecting to need a job in college. It will be a necessity to rebalance my schedule to fit in work hours, academics, and a healthy lifestyle. I anticipate applying for jobs that will work with my class schedule will support an efficient schedule. I work best if I have a calendar
A few individuals need to be rich and well known, and others like there life test and unimportant. I'm the sort of individual that is cordial, receptive and gutsy. My main purpose for existing is to turn into the best form of myself both physically and mentally. With the end goal me should achieve my objectives, I must be taught. I am as of now going to school so that I may acquire my Associates Degree. My objective is to turn into a radiologist and that is the main inspiration I require. I like to carry on with my life without bounds, notwithstanding when I'm not in the state of mind. My goal is to stay propelled and solid so that I may fulfill the objectives that I have set out for myself. I am getting it done when I am sure and most noticeably
With the education I plan on pursuing, mechanical designing is a major part of mechanical engineering. Learning and creating designs for machine parts will help build my knowledge, experience and appreciation for the parts that people have spent their time and efforts to create. After, completing college I plan on entering into a career that is surrounded in mechanical designing, for either a small automotive car company or a factory that designs part for machines. Then build my experience in hopes of working in a bigger and more profound company like Buick. These are my goals in attending college, and I know they will only remain goals unless I put time and effort in the classroom, as well as outside school to make those goals into
The first goal I have ever set for myself was at the beginning of eighth grade. I was just settling into my last year in the International Baccalaureate program. I understood enough to realize that being in the IB program had started to be more of a weight than a learning experience. When I realized that, the goal was clear. My new goal had become to get into the Early College program. I spent most of middle school trying to glide past what was expected of me, and not actually doing my work. I was able to get mostly straight A’s, although I still question how. I had no aspirations and no real direction. There was always a small hope that I could get out of that slump and do something worth doing. I think that I set my goal in the right direction
College is a new beginning to many opportunities. My goals in college are to get involved, stay focused, and pass all of my classes to get a good career involving my major. In order for me to achieve my goals I will need to have patience and be dedicated. I will do all of my homework in a timely matter, go to class every day and study. I believe that if I do this and stay focused that I will reach my goals. I will do everything I need to do in order to achieve my goals so that I will not only be successful in college, but in life as well.
My main objective for going to college is to put myself in a position where I can bring people together to solve common problems. I am currently a sophomore in college and I’m double majoring in both International Relations and Computer Technology. As an ambassador of my generation, my goal is to become a language interpreter for the United Nations and a computer technician. I plan on studying abroad to further enhance my knowledge and gain a greater understanding of how to communicate more effectively with different cultures. The personal experience of interacting with different people will give me insight on how to not only bring people together, but enhance my skills as an interpreter as well. According to Eve Elwell from thirdyearabroad.com,
Attending college is very tough. the percent of college dropouts is increasing every year because students are not able to handle the workload or they do not have the money to pay for it. 37.9% of students that enter a 4-year college drop out and 58.3% that goes beyond that fail to make it. The goals that I set for myself while attending college is not only to make a name for myself on campus but to withstand adversities that will try to steer me to that 37% or that 58% of not finishing what I have started and motivate other to do the same.
Tony Robbins once said, “Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible.” The goals we set tied to our education are often what lead us on the path to success. Goals, no matter how grand or modest, keep students motivated and invested in their education. Furthermore, these are my educational goals and how I plan to achieve them.
