I believe active voice is important because it allows us to write a lower grade level that our intended audiences can understand and relate to. I believe to successfully and effectively have a proper interview communication must be present. For example, if a patient does not speak the same language as me it would be difficult for the patient and I to convey meaning to one another and therefore during the interview I may not get the proper information I need to properly care for the patient. I find it helpful to find out small details about a patient prior to conducting the interview. Being able to break information down to where the patient or patients can understand is a wonderful skill to posses because I will be dealing with so many cultures, ethnicity, and age groups. A lot of people do not understand when doctors and even medical assistants use certain terms, so when they are spoken to where they can understand, it makes them feel better just knowing what is going on instead of feeling more confused than what they was when they came in. And also it lets them know that you care enough to take the time and effort to make sure they understand.
Each nurse also has specific ideas or beliefs about what information should be communicated during a verbal report. Valuable information may not be provided or may be forgotten (Casey & Wallis, 2011). Writing information down may help a nurse recall the data later, but if there is no consistent format for recording the information, it may be lost regardless. You can be one who is laid back, easy going or you can be one who is aggressive and likes to argue about things. The appropriations in a health care workplace can be tricky. For many people when they are stressed out and frustrated , it can cause people to be aggressive towards their fellow co-workers. But it can also be taken as a doctor who does not play around and wants to get the situation taken care of. You can also have those who are laid back and easy going who work in the health care workplace . In doing so, they are less aggressive when it comes to specific areas of the job and will take their time at what they are doing. This can cause people to make mistakes because of their lack of focus or over looking something. Just like being to aggressive, where it too can cause a person to over look something important.
