What is the actual cause of Otzi the Iceman’s death? Using information from different websites I was able to get different theories from different archaeologists and forensic radiologists to help me decide how Otzi died. Otzi was found in September 19, 1991 in a large gully in the Otzal Alps by two hikers. The hikers thought it was a body of a hiker that died recently and they contacted the police immediately. It took five days to recover the body due to the bad weather and tough conditions. Due to the items found around the body they got the help of an archaeologist who confirmed that the body was over 5000 years old. The ice-man was estimated to live between 3350-3100 BC. The scientists did lots of testing and worked out that it was a male
Otzi the iceman died by Exsanguination, a process of blood loss. After having an arrow speared through the shoulder while The Narrabeen man died by three spears lodged into his spine.
Otzi the iceman was a man who was found in 1991 near the border of Austria and Italy while the Narrabeen man is a 5,300 BCE old skeleton that was found in Sydney near a bus stop. Otzi the iceman died by Exsanguination and was preserved by being covered by snow which turned into ice which kept the body together and the Narrabeen man may of died by 3 spears lodged in the spine, the head and the kidney and the Narrabeen man was preserved by being buried in the ground. Some of the Interpretations of otzi the iceman is that he may of suffered from brain damage before death, the brain damage could of caused the death not the arrow wound, after finding two dark areas on his skeleton and the Narrabeen man might have been aboriginal because he had
Tollund Man is a 2400-year-old naturally mummified body that was discovered in 1950 in a danish bog. Tollund Man was most likely a low- class slave from the Iron Age, who was killed as a result of being hung by a rope noose, because he believed in another god than his community, which suggested he was rebelling against his own community.
It was thought to be summer when he died because of the pollen and leaves in Otzi's containers scientists discovered near Otzi's body. At first, people thought that Otzi had an accident in the mountains but it was found in 2001 an x-ray showed an arrowhead in his left shoulder. Because the arrow is hit his subclavian artery because of that he fell to the ground he suffered severe head injuries. Because of all that he bled to death within a few minutes. There is evidence saying that Otzi was involved in a fight with possibly the attackers that might have tried to murder him this evidence is supported by the facts that there was a deep cut to his right hand. If he was murdered historians believe that he was murdered by one or more
Otzi the Iceman is a mummy from the Copper Age found in 1991 in Austria. He was accidently found by hikers with his clothes and equipment still with him. Over centuries ago, Otzi was passing through Tisenjoch/Giogo di Tisa in the Schnalstal/Val Senales Valley, South Tyrol, when he was murdered and preserved in ice. If you think about it, he’s older than Stonehenge and the one teacher you think cowrote the Roman laws and tutored Aristotle. I mean, he’s pretty old.
Is being smart being dumb. In a way that doesn’t sound right. In reality this can be true in a away. This is possible by trying to be smart, but you really are just out thinking yourself. I believe that Vizzini’s arrogance led him to his death. I believe this because he was saying stuff like “Time for me to outsmart you know”, “You should never face a Sicilian in a wit battle”, and things of that nature. By saying this he is being arrogant. After saying this he is now faced by his death, when his opponent beats him.
Who was Otzi when he was alive? Otzi was 25-35 years old and weighed about 50 kg and was a short 5 ft. 2 in. when he died. His body was preserved by a small rocky hollow, it filled with ice and snow preserving Otzi from decomposition. When Otzi
On the 19th of September 1991 near the border of Austria and Italy, Helmut and Erika Simon, German tourists hiking in the mountains, found a corpse half buried in the snow. The corpse was named Ötzi after he was found in the Ötztal Alps. At what was thought to be a modern remains of a human were actually a 5,300-year-old body from around 3300 BCE. Initially when researchers were analyzing Ötzi, they had found that his body was covered, head to foot, in tattoos which archaeological evidence shows that he is the oldest tattooed mummy that has been discovered. They have claimed that Ötzi has 61 overall tattoos and “some of which were located on or near acupuncture points.” (Ellie Crystal, Cristalinks) They also theorized that the tattoos “alleviated lower back and joint pain” and “were connected to management of chest pain.” (Nicholas St. Fleur, 2015, the Atlantic) The tattoos are a puzzling discovery; is
How did Edgar Allen Poe die is a question that has been pondered by people for centuries. Although we can not say for a fact how Poe died there have been many theories throughout the years some more likely than others. Although other theories provide good evidence and reasoning to how Poe died, it seems all of Poe’s symptoms were a classic case of rabies.
Ötzi the Iceman is the oldest naturally preserved human body ever found. Because of Ötzi, we can touch and almost see into the very distant past. We can imagine the lives led by our human ancestors. The discovery and study of Ötzi enables us to look back through time and glimpse an ancient world.
How did Edgar Allen Poe really die? It is a question that has been asked for years now that people are still trying to answer. There are numerous theories of how Poe died, the most popular being alcoholism and rabies. Most people at the time attributed Poe's death to alcoholism because of his dark past with alcohol. However, Poe died of rabies because he exhibited many signs of rabies, including hallucinations, delirium, and anger.
In 2011, 23 year old Katie Sharify was involved in an automobile accident that damaged her spine, leaving her paralyzed from the chest down. Katie’s medical team proposed an experimental approach to her therapy using stem cell research, in which stem cells taken from a 5 day old embryo could be converted into cells used for communication between the brain and body. Seeing the glimmer of hope, Katie accepted. However, the funding was cut shortly after her treatment, and all of the hope she had been clinging to was seemingly lost. Three years and a 14.3 million dollar grant later, however, the research she had participated in was deemed safe and enabled to
In conclusion, there has not yet been a definite cause of death for King Tut, but studies and tests performed on the mummy body mostly point to infection as his cause of death. He died at a very young age, however the medications and technology was not there like it is today. There will continue to be studies and testing done, but there will always only be speculation because he died so long ago.
The Masque of the Red Death was published in May of 1842 by Edgar Allen Poe. It’s clearly an allegorical story, one that can be more narrowly defined as a parable. A parable is defined by Encyclopedia Britannica as a fable-like story which uses humans instead of animals, and draws an analogy “between a particular instance of human behavior…and human behaviour at large”. It’s specifically designed to deliver a moral message or lesson, and the one in Masque is that no one can escape death, no matter what artifices are placed to obstruct it. This is interesting, but the real magnificence of the tale is in the literary genre in which Poe tells it, which is the Grotesque.
