Thank you very much for coming to our meeting. You have done a very good progress during the last weeks. Your classes are going very well. Thus far, I do not have any concern about your classes. I am glad to hear the you have met Dr. Tan and Roberto to look over your CV, resume, and portfolio to have them ready for job applications. Keep working on those items. Your HIST 325 instructor has sent the guidelines for your Paper Assignment, use them when working on it, and let me know if you need any assistance to complete that assignment. Your grades on AD 101 have been updated. Check them in the Excel document I attached to my email. You have been working on your ENGL 497 critiques. Let me know if you need any assistance when working on them.
You have turned in your HIST 325 Final Paper. Please update me when you have your grade for this assignment.
Don't forget to complete your FIN 208 Chapter # 4 Homework. It will close today at midnight. You have some confusion on ACCT 230. You grade for Exam # 1 is not good enough. You said that you will prepare better for your next exam. You have taken 2 PHIL 210 examinations thus far. Update me when you get your grade for Examination # 2. You have been memorizing your part for your THEA 217 Hooters Scene.
Today, the Roman Empire is often pictured as a shining testament to simplicity, bravery, and imperialism. Many look to the longstanding success of Rome as an example for strong modern nations to follow, conveniently choosing to downplay the importance of Rome’s eventual downfall. While this image is not entirely incorrect, it fails to acknowledge the corruption that plagued Rome, a feature that was particularly evident during the empire’s decline. One of the most conventional examples of a time that suffered the outcomes of this corruption occurred during the third century A.D. While a number of factors contributed to this time of vast turmoil which would ultimately become known as the Third Century Crisis, one of the most substantial was the political instability that arose from the changes that were occurring inside the Roman military and its ties to succession.
This is Jeanicot Pierre and I am one of your students. I have just spoke with you right after the class regarding of my score on the test #3, in which I have a low score, and I think perhaps it could have been an error while you were correcting the test by different key because I had test B. I would really appreciate, if you could possibly double check for me because this is my last semester and I majoring in Nursing, therefore, I am worried about my GPA. Thank you for your consideration.
Feedback from one of our Adjunct – David Stoler: Hi Sophia. I updated our shared doc to reflect my student’s grades. They were all A+. I'm extremely pleased with the EC students. As you know, we had a dynamic group, and the highest lifted the lowest so that everyone really gave their all and excelled. I was very proud of how hard they worked with and for each other, a key component to workshop. I'm looking forward to my EC class next term!
I wanted to thank you again for allowing me to be a part of the HBCU Pride Summer Institute. The experience was enjoyable and enlightening. Since this experience, I have seriously questioned my career goals and direction. In fact, I really miss our quarterly self-assessments. They really provided a roadmap for growth. I also love working with Gina. She is awesome. I feel inspired, just as I did with Dr. Gamble, to stretch myself and knowledge base. I want to do more.
Thanks professor Vetto, I'm very glad you like my post. To be honest these daily questions are really starting to open my eyes to many things I didn't know. The response that each student post are very unique an accurate in the way that we are learning from eachother. Big thanks to you for setting the class in this form, it is very helpful in comprenhensing the course
To be perfectly honest my recollection of Comp 121 is a little foggy, i took the course roughly a year and a half ago and during my first semester and it was one of my first college level courses. From what i can recall it was a interesting and enjoyable, The professor Jacob Sherlock is no longer with the school, but was a professional writer along with a life-long lover and student of the written word. We regularly discussed current events and the class wide give and take of various ideas and viewpoints was truly enlightening and are easily amongst my most enjoyable and memorable college experiences. In particular i vibrantly recall a passionate debate on gun-control which was to be frank, dominated by a extremely Conservative former Army
Throughout history many living figures have helped shaped each religion the way it is viewed
I noticed you sent an announcement out about seeing our grade as of Friday in the handout section, but when I try and click on that section there is no link for it. Also, from what I can recall, on the quizzes, and Rocketmix I am not doing well in your class and would like any and all suggestions you have for me. I'm feeling upset with myself as I've been doing well in all of my classes since attending the CSUDH I'm on track to graduate Summa Cum Laude. I have had many struggles in the past with school and getting my first Associates degree and I believe being a first generation college student did not help matter but now 10 years have past since my first degree and I've learned to be a better college student since then and going into
English Comp 1 was an eye opening experience. The course was emotionally and physically draining, but I strongly believe it prepared me for Comp 2. Learning and improving are a few of the rewards I received through hard work and dedication during the course. Throughout English comp 1, I discovered my biggest weakness. I improved some of my various difficulties, and I achieved a rewarding high point.
Mat and I met today. We talked about his grade in JRNL 332. We computed his overall grade in this class; thus far, Matthew was made 70/79 points for an overall grade of 88.6% B Matthew emailed his instructor asking for clarification for a grade posted in D2L which seems to be extra credit. Matthew has also improved his overall grade in FIN 330; his overall grade in this class is 115/ 78% C.
During my first semester here at Stout I learned lot in all my classes but especially in my Composition 1 class. As I did not have the greatest English teachers in the past this semester was very helpful to me. Not only was I able to expand my composition skills but also how to think and develop my writing even further. I could apply these new skills in my speech class as well and it gave me a better help when preparing and presenting my speeches.
The Writing II course has been my most interesting and rewarding class. Even though I could not complete the class, the course is not over for me. Before taking the class, I acknowledge I have much room to grow in writing, but I did not know where to start. Writing has always been unclear to me in many areas, and this class helped me to unblemished my understanding. In this class, I have acknowledged my weakest areas in writing, but my most astonished ambiguity was determiner noun and vocabulary. I did not know I was using determiner incorrectly and vocabulary span is so important in academic writing. The English Simplied book is an easy and an excellent learning tool that was used in this course. It covers all areas in determiners.
When researching the history of human adaption it is worth noting that at least twice in the last 1.2 million years our species was almost wiped out. Genetic research shows that at that time the human population on earth was around 18,500, perilously close to extinction (the reason for this is not directly known by scientists). Then about 150,000 years ago, it plummeted again down to just 2,000. This shows that in the past humans have not always been great at surviving which could have been caused by a lack of knowledge on how to live through natural disasters (such as volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, hurricanes, etc). However, humans did survive, with the biggest example being that there is still a human race today. In this day and age
