Adam Brown Hero Essay

Now everyone agrees that John Brown main goal was to abolish the slavery in the south, but some believe that he is a hero for dying for his cause or being a martyr.

The unwavering amount of faith that Adam’s family had in him helped Adam to push his addiction to the side. It was not easy, however. Adam struggled with his addiction for years, but his saving grace was Kelley. Kelley provided Adam with unconditional love and gave him the strength he needed to get back to his old self. Never did she give up on Adam. She always stood by his side. Kelley helped Adam complete his American Dream. On page 98, Kelley became Adam’s loving wife. She looked after Adam and was the perfect spouse, Adam’s American Dream. Even when Adam messed up again and again, she was always there for him. Adam gave Kelley every reason to leave, to give up on him, but Kelley never felt the urge to abandon what they had. She refused to let these problems interfere with the love she had for Adam.

Brown's attack on Harper's Ferry affected American culture more than can ever be understood. Tension between the North and South was building in the 1850's. Slavery among many other things was dividing the country into two sections. Brown was executed on December 2, 1859 for his murderous out-lash on society. Was his mind so twisted and demented that he would commit cold-blooded murder? The answer is no. John Brown was a man with a goal and a purpose. When he said that abolition could not be achieved without blood he was right. It is one of histories great ironies; John Brown's struggle preceded the Civil War by only 17 months. Adam started out as a drug addict who made a lot of bad decisions. He burned a lot of bridges with people that were close to him. Adam stole from his family and friends and often went missing. He was always found with a bad group of people or on drugs. Adam had to have dreams of being more than that.

Upon his return to the church Adam is welcomed as a hero. Disguised as a hobo O’Malley again tries to kill Adam. Confided to a wheelchair Adam confronts the murderer. As Sean pulls the trigger, Elijah jumps in front of Adam. The old black janitor gives his life for his beloved pastor.

Should John Brown be considered a hero? John Brown is considered to be a “terrorist” in south but to north he is a hero. John Brown is a “terrorist” because he carried out a small army to kill the slave owners and non-slave owners who agreed with slavery in the south, but is also considered to be a”hero” because he “killed” slavery. He was a radical abolitionist because he believed that violence was necessary to free the slave. His men killed four people while as ten of his men were killed including his two sons.

In George Orwell’s 1984, the author explains through the Dystopian country of Oceania, London, his warning of what could possibly happen to the world in the future. Through the usage of vivid imagery and the development of identifiable characters, carefully portrayed through exact, succinct sensory details, Orwell yields warning of what happens when power and control goes unbridled; furthermore, he slowly and meticulously reveals the horrible extent those abusing power will go to in order to achieve and maintain absolute authority and control. In addition, Orwell once defined heroism as “ordinary people doing whatever they can to change social systems that do not respect human decency, even with the knowledge that they can’t possibly succeed.

Everyone has their own opinion of what a hero is, and hopefully for good reasons. The hero that they’re thinking about was probably a very important leader in their generation. Example: Abraham Lincoln became president and freed all the slaves and ended slavery forever. Thomas Jefferson created the declaration of independence, therefore making the US a free place to live. One reason Barack Obama is a hero to me is his ability to care. Barack Obama is a very caring person.One thing that shows that is he cares for everybody and makes sure that everyone is satisfied. He still made sure of that when he was not president anymore.

Adam Brown is the definition of what a true hero is, even though he went through a rough patch. He still pulled through to become the man he is known for today. He remained compassionate, kind, brave, and kept close in his faith in God. He was always compassionate to others. As shows on page 243, when instead of getting things for Christmas himself, he asks for shoes for the children in Afghan that have no shoes to keep their feet warm. Another example is on page 252, where he always had respect and compassion for others, no matter their social ranking. He was very kind to others, especially when it came to his family. On page 261, he sends his family a message, telling them how much he misses them and how he hopes they have a good day. Also, on page 237, when an intruder came into the house, Adam scared them off and just like that he was Kelley’s cuddly Adam again that wouldn’t hurt a

Adam and Kelley showed that they were true heroes through compassion. Adam Brown was a part of Navy SEAL Team Six, a group of 16 of America’s biggest bad asses. Most people would assume that the words used to describe Adam Brown would have been hard, cruel words, but these people would have been wrong. Adam had something that only true heroes have deep within them, and that was compassion. Adam had compassion for everything he did throughout his life. He showed compassion when he was in high school playing football, a sport at which Adam excelled. He was regarded as one of the smallest people on the team in his younger years, but also known as one of the hardest workers that the coaches had ever seen. Adam was an extraordinary kid. He feared nothing. When he was two, he jumped 12 feet from the deck at his house (pg 13). He played football, had amazing family and friends, and had his fair share of trouble. He always was kind to everyone and stood up for the underdog (pg 25). All of his classmates and teachers adored him. The worst mistake of his life started the first time he tried drugs (pg 44). This started a whirlwind of pain and anxiety on all of Adam’s family. Adam would disappear for long periods of time, steal from his parents, and had many bad influences (pg 48). He hit the lowest of the low while at a party when he stabbed himself in the neck (pg 55). This was very hard for everyone that knew Adam. He got sent to a rehab facility and faced many challenges while he was there (pg 57). He finally got released out into the real world after finishing the 12 step AA program (pg 58). Adam had many ups and downs after this.

Adam is a hero because when he had a relapse, he went to someone and and asked them for help ( put quote). He went to Texas and stayed there for awhile He didn’t want Kelley to know but she knew he was there.He decided that it was best for him to go into the Navy. He went and talked to them told them everything that happened and that he wanted to be in the Navy. Adam had gotten into the Navy just by a little chance with his stories that he told but he knew someone that he went to school with.

There are many heroes in the novel Fearless, which is a book based off the life of Adam Brown, a Navy SEAL. Making it obvious to tell that he is a hero, due to him giving his life for his country and how he treated people he had never met. However, he is not the only hero in the novel. The other hero in this story is Kelly, Adams wife. She is a hero for Adam, as she helped him through his drug addiction, always supported him, and most of all, she trusted in him.

When the word hero comes to mind people usually think of some super hero that they read about in a book or saw in a movie, but the literal definition of a hero is a person who is admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. “Fearless” by Eric Blehm contains many examples of real life heroes. Adam Brown is undoubtedly the main hero in Blehm's novel, but other members of the Brown family also displayed many notable heroic qualities.
