Every leader, whether they be good or bad have the qualities that make them great No matter what, a leader must have some quality or other that makes them great, that makes them stick out of the crowd. Otherwise they would not be a leader. Some leaders might be charming and charismatic, others smart and shrewd but they all possess a quality that makes them unique. There have been many leaders throughout history, some evil and some heroic. For example Hitler, although he was an extremely evil man, had the qualities of a great leader. Without those qualities he would not of risen to power and succeeding in slaughtering millions of Jewish people. The only difference between a good leader leader and a terrible one is how they wield their power. Whether they make a stand against racism, or other cultural suppression, like Ghandi and Martin Luther King Jr. Or if the use their power to destroy, corrupt, and conquer what they consider lesser people, such as Hitler. A leader is a leader of nothing if he stands alone. People must pick and choose their loyalties with the utmost care. And if they are brave enough, they must stand up for what is right and against what is wrong. A leader's followers are extremely important. Without followers you are not a leader. And that's what makes a great leader, the ability to be clever enough, charming enough and brave enough to get people to see your view and help you make it a reality. A leader must also listen to their followers, to know what they think and to work together to achieve your goal.Often time a leader can be blinded when his goal is so close. He can get tunnel vision and maybe not see the consequences or the other factor. But the people can help him see, help him make choices he won’t regret. People are the heart of the living beast of a cause, the leader is just the head. They need each other to
Many people in history did great things. United State presidents for example, did everything for their country. Even though their are good leaders, some are cruel. In Egypt, a pharaoh could execute a person for no reason. A good leader needs the traits of leadership, intelligence, discipline, and integrity. One specific leader in ancient Greece was Alexander the Great. Alexander did not belong in the category of “the greats”
Many people would not hear the words “good leader” and “Adolf Hitler” in the same sentence. Nor would anyone usually say that Mahatma Gandhi was an aggressive leader. Both past leaders show many similar leadership qualities, but the way they broadcasted their ideologies diverges severely. Many world leaders possess the qualities of authority, but none can quite be a perfect commander. In fact, there is no such thing as a perfect leader. No commander can perfectly lead a division into battle, and no chief can perfectly manage his tribe. For every strength of a good leader, a flaw exists. There is no impeccable image of a leader.
The first characteristic of a great leader is being loved by their people. By way of example Jane Simmons wrote “ an aggressive military leader, he was feared but also admired by people in other land.” Sulieman scared the people that he needed to scare but he was admired by the people he helped. Also in Amit carters queen Elizabeth I summary it says “she was thought of as a good and wise ruler who was truly thought of as a good ruler
Throughout history, humanity has been under the influence of a variety of different leaders: moral, tyrannical, weak, and strong. Yet, while reflecting on the past, we seldomly ever call a leader a truly “good leader.” A major reason for the scarcity of this title is that we simply cannot agree upon what characterizes as a “good leader.” Is a “good leader” suppose to be perfect? Left-brained? Merciful? We have such a hard time answering this simple question because, we, as humans are complex beings. We cannot simply classify anyone as “good” or “bad” because humans are not consistent in their behaviors; there will always be exceptions to whatever argument we make. Yet, there are and can be “good leaders”, although we may a hard time defining what one may be. For the sake of objectivity , let us look at a simpler leader who has only few clear
There have always been leaders who are effective and get the job done, but that does not necessarily mean that they were “good” leaders. To be a good leader means that not only does one have to be effective but also be able to go above and beyond just simply reaching the goal in mind. A good leader sets to make an impact in many different people’s lives. A good example of the difference between an effective leader and a good leader would be Ron and Deborah Hall in The Same Kind of Different as Me.
Franklin D. Roosevelt once said, "If you treat people right they will treat you right.... 90% of the time. " There are bad leaders and good leaders. Great leaders are not very easy to find in the world. There are many different leadership traits, such as caring, decisive and focused. There can also be bad leaders that are dishonest and do not do what is best for the United States such as Hillary Clinton.
Throughout the world there have been many great leaders. Often leaders are made through the oppression they have gone through or for the common goal of his/her beliefs and the common good of the country. Leaders do not necessarily have to be “good”, rather they have to have certain characteristics that set them apart from the rest of the crowd. These certain characteristics may help these leaders gain support for their common belief or common goal. It does not matter if the leader is fighting for or against a belief, if they have a certain way to approach there followers. They can be great leaders.
In today’s world, and throughout the rest of history, we have an array of leaders ranging from magnificent to appalling. For example, Mahatma Ghandi was one of the best leaders in history. Regardless of his lack of government
What makes a leader a good leader? It is based on how much he does for his people? Or is it based on how much he accomplishes during his reign? There is no one definite answer for this question. A “good” leader can be determined by several different standards. Although their approaches were frowned upon by many, Hannibal Barca, Caligula, and Genghis Khan can all be viewed as “good” leaders. These leaders differ in morals, military tactics, and ruling strategies but, they all managed to accomplish the statues of “The Great” during their time of rule.
What separates the best leaders from the average leader? Leaders like Winston Churchill, Julius Caesar, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Adolf Hitler, Martin Luther King Jr, and Mahatma Gandhi, arguably history’s greatest leaders, were all able to accomplish incredible feats. They shared many traits, but they had a few extra qualities and traits that allowed them to shine.
What defines a good leader? How they treat people? Or if they have good visions for the future? Leadership does not necessarily gain its definition as having good intentions but more as getting the job and going it efficiently. In Gorge Orwell’s Animal Farm, the pigs lead the rebellion against Farmer Jones but eventually Napoleon takes charge and leads them all. He directed the other animals on the farm and much got accomplished from the time he took charge to the end of the book. Napoleon was not a nice leader, but he was very efficient. Even though Napoleon did not have any moral qualities and broke all the rules of originally made for Animal Farm, he prospered as did the rest of the farm. Napoleon was an effective leader on Animal Farm because
What determines a great leader isn’t whether they are good or bad but, it is either they could get many people who could follow in their beliefs. Adolf Hitler was a dictator in Germany and was the leader of the Nazi Army of the Third Reich. He had many people to follow his ideas because of how persuasive he is, the ambitions he had and how persistance he is.
Winston Churchill embodied a great leader because he was always being positive, had a lot of confidence, and he was honest with others. The pigs in Animal Farm, demonstrated bad leadership because they were negative, they lied to the other animals, and they were always doubtful. Winston Churchill was the complete opposite of the pigs. Being confident, positive, and honest gave him the image of a great leader across the world. A leader is someone who can lead and inspire others therefore, having good leadership will not guarantee success, but a lack of leadership will guarantee
Not all leaders are famous like Martin Luther King, most leaders are ordinary people; you can walk down the street and run into someone and not know that they are a very powerful leader. I personally know of a good leader that is an ordinary person; my father. Although some people believe that leaders are born and not made, I believe that anyone can become a leader if they have enough courage and are thick skinned. There are many words that people come up with when they are asked to describe what makes a good leader. The most popular characteristics used to describe a good leader would be a good listener, responsible, and decisive. When you think of what makes a good leader you should also ask what kind of education they have and what
While some leaders only wish to use their power to satisfy personal agendas, the vast majority of leaders seek to use their power for good and to benefit their people. Of course, there are exceptions to this when one looks back at people with power like Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, or more recently with leaders like Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden. Even with these individuals in positions of power, who were definitely corrupt in their own ways, the number of good leaders far outweighs the bad ones. You don’t have to search very hard to find examples of powerful people in history who made a positive impact. Barack Obama, even though many people disapproved, implemented the Affordable Care
