“He was quick to anger from childhood onward and would not listen to anyone. He would get the craziest notions and got away with them.” This quote from Adolf Hitler's brother, Alois Jr., shows that even in childhood, he was narcissistic and troubled. His life was full of hatred, failure, and heartbreak. All of these tragedies are what lead to his rise and his downfall.
Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, 1889 in Braunau, Austria. His mother is Klara Hitler, and his father is Alois Hitler (Rubenstein 5). Klara and Alois married after Alois had already had two children. Adolf was born as the 4th child. He and Klara were always extremely close (Giblin 11). His father, however, was a different story. Because they lived in a crowded home, Alois

He was remarkably interested in art and architecture. This cause problems with his father. Alois constantly pushed Adolf to pursue the job that he wanted Adolf to have. Adolf despised this notion. He did not like the idea of having to sit in a desk all day and doing something he did not love (Giblin 8). He wanted to go to a well known art school in Vienna, the Academy of Fine Arts. Adolf took the first exam to see if he could get in, and he passed. However, when he went to take the second examination, he did not get a passing grade. This destroyed him, and he kept this from everyone he knew back home and lived there (Giblin 10). This was the first major failure in his life. This caused him to drift until he joined WW1. He was called to service and it quickly gave his life meaning. He was a brave soldier and was promoted to Corporal. Adolf was wounded twice and was awarded many medals for his service. In October 1918, he was partially blinded by a mustard gas attack. While in the hospital recovering, he heard of the armistice that ended the war. This crushed him and his life did not have as much meaning as it once did (“Early …show more content…
He told the German people that they needed to resist the jewish people and the communists. He made the people believe that they would build a new empire without those two groups (“Adolf Hitler”). Around 1923, the Nazi Party started to grow stronger. They devised a plan to take control of the Munich government. They were going to try and take control of a meeting that was being held in the Beer Hall. This attempt failed. Because of this, Adolf was sentenced to 5 years in prison on the charge of treason (“Hitler, Adolf”). Hitler only served 9 months of the 5 years in prison, but during this time he wrote his famous autobiography, “Mein Kampf”. That translates to “My Struggle”. His autobiography had things such as, his views on what was wrong about German society. He targeted Democrats, Communists, internationalists, but Jews were what he hated the most. He blamed them for everything wrong in the world. He believed that Jews did not have a culture, and that they perverted other cultures and called them their own. Hitler also believed that they were an “anti-race” (“Adolf Hitler”). Once out of prison, he felt as if he was a failure, and only a few members of the Nazi party were still together (“Hitler,
Adolf Hitler did not have a good early life. He was born on April 20, 1889 In Austria. He was never very social with his peers or his family, besides his mother who died when he was very young. He had intended to become an artist, and drew excellent landscapes. His father, though, did not approve of his plan, and was very abusive to him. He was actually part Jewish although born a Catholic. No one seemed to take him serious. He wanted to prove his power. (Holocaust Encyclopedia)
In Hitler early years the loss of his parents had severely threatened his social status. He would strive to create art and believed that he was very talented. He could not understand why others did not see his talents though and why he was rejected from art schools numerous times. This lead to much time being spent in the library where he would indulge himself in political tracts. His first attempt at being a part of the German military would come as a great upset to him. He is turned down because they see him as unfit. His military entry would come after the 1914 June 28th assassination of the Arch duke Franz Ferdinand and the start of the First World War.
When he was younger, his family wasn’t very prosperous. His parents worked poor jobs and made very little money to remain with their needs. This gave him hard times because he didn’t have much of a start when he became an adult. He didn’t have a job for the most part and he lived in a homeless shelter. Hitler loved art for a time, and was an excellent artist too. His father ridiculed him for wanting to be an artist and not a businessman. After he was old enough, he moved to Vienna, where he could go to a school of fine arts. When he registered he got rejected, so he tried again but had the same outcome. Which this led him to being poor and ruined his dreams. Both these reasons gave him hard times in his
Hitler believed that the human race was very similar to species of animals and we should behave as such. His basic ideologies explain why he was looking for war and his goals for Germany. Hitler believed that each race should mate with a similar race and get rid of races that were not the same. This prejudice he had explains why he would want to go to war with nearby countries. Ideally, Hitler would demolish every single race that was not his own. It would be impossible for him to get rid of all other races, so he picked the one that was least like the Aryans which were Jewish people.
Adolf struggled with accomplishing his goals much of his life. After his father died, his mother allowed him to drop out of school where he joined the workforce doing general labor and pursuing his passion of art through
Hitler on the other hand had different ideas and wanted to become an artist. When his father heard of this he got angry and sent Hitler off to a technical school. As all parents now know when a child doesn’t get their way they rebel and things start to get out of hand, even worse if the child is a stubborn one like Hitler was. Hitler in protest to being sent to technical school did his best to cause havoc, he purposely failed his classes and caused dissent in school. While in school he began to develop his German ideals that many others were developing at their young age.
Hitler was born on April 20, 1889 in Austria. From a young age Hitler longed to be an artist, but with a father as a government officer art was not in Hitler’s future. The arguments between Hitler and his father of pursuing a government job would always be in the back of Hitler’s mind, therefore fueling his anger. His father’s disapproval caused Hitler to want to rebel; he started to fail assignments in school and dropped out at the age of sixteen. Hitler did not look for nor did he even want a job. His father had passed away, but Hitler still did not help support his family even though he loved his mother dearly. Hitler then tried to gain acceptance into an art academy but failed. The unfortunate events troubled Hitler for the rest of his life. To add to the stress and anger
His dad was furious (Bio). Alois and Adolf's relationship went down hill
Three years later Adolf's parents moved the family to Germany, and with time this was where Hitler obtained German nationalist ideas from a very young age. After his father passed away he then moved to Vienna and because of his love of art and drawing he decided to go apply at Vienna's Academy of Fine Arts but unfortunately they turned him away two times. After the school denied him twice Hitler ran out of money causing him to become homeless and stay at hostiles in Vienna where he learned about the anti-Antisemitism way of thinking
<br>Hitler felt it was the right time to start a revolution. On November 8, 1923, Hitler and about 600 followers attempted to take control of the provincial Bavarian government. They lacked mass support and had no chance against the military force of the government. The rebellion failed and Hitler was imprisoned and sentenced to five years although he only served one. Hitler explained his political views in his book Mein Kampf or My Struggle.
His harsh father, Alois Hitler, and the death of his brother in 1900 impacted Hitler’s emotions and interactions with people severely. Hitler was also intrigued by German nationalism, which is the idea that asserts that Germans are a nation. A few years after his father died, Hitler dropped out of school and moved to Vienna to work. Here he had little money and remained in homeless shelters. It was in this stage in life when Hitler developed anti-semitism, which is prejudice against Jews.
His heart swelling with passion for the cause, Hitler applied to join the German army, despite his Austrian citizenship.4 In 1914, his request was accepted and soon Hitler was plunged into the trenches of the Great War. His time as a soldier was cut short after being injured at the Somme, however, he went on to receive the Iron Cross First Class and the Black Wound Badge. Germany’s surrender in 1918 reestablished his fervent nationalism and he believed, like many other nationalists, “that the German Army had been betrayed by civilian leaders and Marxists”.4 To even further his deep-embroiled hatred and anger, the Treaty of Versailles, dreamed up by the Allied powers, forced Germany to accept full blame for the war and to pay ridiculous reparations, of which Germany just didn’t have. What particularly baited Hitler was the demilitarization of the Rhineland. After World War I, he returned to Munich and spent his time monitoring the German Worker’s Party (DAP) of which elevated his anti-Semitic and anti-Marxist ways. In 1919 he was asked to join the DAP and he did so with enthusiasm. He went so far as to design the banner for the newly dubbed Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (NSDAP).4 The banner was of infamous swastika that he would go on to adopt as the official symbol of his Nazi Party. During this
On April 20, 1889, Adolf Hitler was born in Braunau Am Inn, Austria to Alois Hitler and Klara Pölzl. In the early days of Hitler’s life, he was an unrestrained and carefree child who lived a happy life. His mother was very caring and affectionate towards him while his father spent most of his time either at work or following his hobby of keeping bees. Hitler had an older brother named Alois Hitler Jr. and an older sister named Angela, and a few years after he was born his mom gave birth to another son named Edmund and another sister named Paula. After his father retired and Hitler started to go to school his life began to change. He was no longer able to live his previous carefree lifestyle and now his strict father was going to be watching
Hitler liked being in the army. For the first time he was part of a group that was fighting for a common goal. Hitler also liked the excitement of fighting in a war. Although fairly cautious in his actions, he did not mind risking his life and impressed his commanding officers for volunteering for dangerous missions. Hitler's passion for danger and the spotlight, lead him to become a
