WRITING INSTRUCTIONAL OBJECTIVES Kathy V. Waller, PhD, CLS(NCA) NAACLS Board of Directors Educators have used instructional, or behavioral, objectives for at least four decades. Robert Mager’s little text, Preparing Instructional Objectives, first printed in 1962, assisted many instructors in formulating and writing objectives. Since then, the use of objectives has become commonplace in education. The National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) also affirms the value of objectives. Specifically, Essentials 12 and 13 address the importance of incorporating objectives within the curriculum and specific units of study. The purpose of this unit is to assist the educator in writing objectives using a standard …show more content…

According to Kizlik (2013), "objectives that are used in education, whether they are called learning objectives, behavioral objectives, instructional objectives, or performance objectives are terms that refer to descriptions of observable behavior or performance that are used to make judgments about learning." By producing the part that is unique for our company, we no longer have to rely on the larger companies to manufacture the part that allows our company to utilize a unique part easily. The main advantage of vertical integration for our company is that, we have more control over the value chain, particularly when we acquire or develop a manufacturing a unique part, we get more control over the production and cost of the part throughout the distribution process. We are essentially bypassing the service market completely and doing it by ourselves. We are engaged in a vertical integration when any time we shun other suppliers and choose to produce a part internally
While writing learning objectives was a difficult task, I also found enjoyment out of the process. I delighted in writing realistic expectations that students could visualize for the week. The section I am most proud of is Step 6: Constructing Unit Plan. In this area, all of the steps came to life and put into practice. I reviewed the current class schedule and made adjustments based on what I observed. I evaluated previous class schedules and took elements that provided the clearest communication. I compiled those features and constructed the unit
Goal: Healthy People 2010 (HP2010) objective(s) utilized as the goal for the teaching. Include the appropriate objective number and rationale for using the selected HP2010 objective (use at least one objective from one of the 24 focus areas). If an HP2010 objective does not support your teaching, explain how your teaching applies to one of the two overarching HP2010 goals.
We are living in a world, where technology keeps changing on day-to-day basis. In this ever-changing world of technology, the question is how are some companies doing better than the others and what are they doing to maintain competitive advantage? Rise of technology has given birth to competition by giving companies new ways to perform at higher levels and this has also led to the ways companies are producing their products and services. Technology has affected several sections of an organization by having an impact on business communications, company’s HR practices, and organizational changes. Therefore, in order to gain and maintain competitive advantage, a company must do one of the two; either produce goods/services at a lower cost or produce innovative products in a way that leads to differentiation and a premium price.
In the world of education, it is crucial for teachers to create and implement efficient high-quality instructional plans that meet the needs and interest of all students. High quality instructional plans align with Common Core State Standards, provide differentiated instruction, meet students where they are, teach learners how to think, and enables them to claim ownership of constructing their knowledge. An effective lesson plan describe particular expectations, tasks, responsibilities, materials and resources, and end results of the lesson. Instructional plans must be designed with the students in mind and focus on the learner’s readiness levels, interest, and preferences. One of the most critical components of an efficient instruction plan is learning objectives. According to Lefrancois (2013) “learning objectives describe what the teacher and the student aim to achieve” (Ch. 1.2). This brief dissertation highlights important elements of three different instructional plans and identify the one that I find to be the most efficient based on research and personal experience.
For “standards and objectives”, I rated myself 3 as I need to be more aware of connecting lessons to each other. This indicator (Aligns with the InTASC standard 1, learning development, as the teacher designs and implements a lesson that is connected to what students have learned. I rated myself 4 in “motivating students” because I believe that motivating students affect their learning positively; this indicator aligns with standard 8, instructional strategies, as the teacher uses several strategies to encourage students to learn. Regarding presenting my “instructional content”, I give myself 3 because I don’t use all the materials used to teach students for a single lesson. I usually utilize the most effective materials or methods with considering the class time; this indicator aligns with standard 8, instructional strategies, because as a teacher, I should present the lesson the way my students understand by utilizing the most positive strategies for their learning. For “lesson structure and pacing”, I think I already come to the class preparing what I should give my students and how I move from a part to another smoothly without wasting time on useless topics or actions, so I rate myself 4; this indicator aligns with standard 8, instructional strategies, as the students’ attention should not be distracted from the target lesson,

on such a heavy part of the responsibility of what is going on in the classrooms, there must be clearly stated objectives for the course and they should be properly tained. These objectives may be decided on together with the learners, if the teaching situation permits
Literature Concerning the Main Theories of Outsourcing and Vertical Integration and the Examples of Carnegie Steel Company and Nike
Netflix could pursue multiple options in order to remain viable in the industry. In order to achieve vertical integration Netflix would have to control two of the four aspects of the supply chain. Those include commodities, manufacturing, distribution, and retail. There are many advantages to vertical integration including control over the market (Amadeo, 2016). If Netflix could have a partnership with the movie and television industry they could monopolize the online streaming industry and, therefore, decrease cost to the consumer. By collaborating with the partners this would decrease cost to Netflix and increase revenues. This would allow more offerings for the viewer and increase customer loyalty and increase the customer base. Overall efficiency is improved when collaborating with supply companies. A supply chain strategy is important to any company when making strategic decisions. This improves the ability to effectively market products, and improves distribution of products to the consumer (Ferrell, Hartline, 2014). Increased efficiency and control over quality are pros to vertical intergration for Netflix.
Instructional objectives also help in the selection process of instructional media and materials that are needed to achieve the goal. And procedures to be used to teach the new informations become clearer through proper instructional objectives.
Determining the school’s objectives, what educational process should the school seek to attain and what the students need to be successful are all objectives which must be consistent with the philosophy and vision of the education. For example, a school that is developing a Criminal Justice curriculum may create a target that students will identify five causes of crime. Subsequently, this is only one of many various objectives within the curriculum.
