“Home is where you feel at home and are treated well” said Dalai Lama (BrainyQuote, n.d.). Do you agree with the perception of feeling happy in anywhere that makes you feel good? Have you ever thought about it? While in our lifetime, we experience a lot of roles, regardless of their causes and effects in our life. These roles make every of us an actor of our own movie, put us on various duties and lead us while we wander in a distinct adventure. Such roles include a wide range from being parents, siblings, teachers, role models, to diplomats, leaders and many others. If one use them efficiently adding a good timing and strategy, he or she can be the winner and determine the losers. More specifically, revolving around the educational sector, …show more content…
It is a process of not only some period within one’s life, but also a whole life in a process, more experienced life; becoming more mature, a better problem-solver. After coming back home probably what happens to a lot, is you start to feel strange enough even though you are back. If the program satisfied you, then, the most difficult days are waiting, because of the need of going back and experiencing more. The greatest cause is adaptation again and its potential effect which demotivates you at first; because you were happy there, even though it was not home. You were away from home problems, while facing host problems, the different ones; those decisions were yours, so, you felt happy in another place rather than your own. That made you the winner rather than a loser, and proved Dalai Lama’s quote as it was the biggest effect. There is not an absolutely perfect place where one can feel best, but wherever one feels better, then, that’s the beginning of interesting causes and effects. Now, it is time to be the winner and create reasonable effects from better
Nowadays, most Lebanese citizens agree that the best universities in the world are found abroad. Those universities have higher levels of education than the one's found in Lebanon. This reason has encouraged many students to continue their studies abroad. Therefore, the number of students who are learning in a foreign country is increasing every year. They are choosing to study in a developed country where they can get advanced educational programs and higher degree levels. No doubt that studying abroad might be difficult at times, but it helps students to discover new cultures, have more responsibilities, and get their PhD.
In a meta-analysis of the literature with adults, Lyubormski, King, and Diener (2005) found that happier individuals lived longer, earned more money and were more productive at work, and reported more satisfying interpersonal relationships. Regardless of the environmental use of positive psychology, the importance of happiness is apparent in numerous life domains for college students. Additionally, although there is limited research regarding predominantly college students, research with adolescences establishes the importance of happiness in school as well as in the home and community. Notably, it is school, home and community, which are three key building blocks that compose a college campus.
Money can’t be the determining factor for happiness (Kinicki & Williams, 2016). Therefore, what is meaningful determines what true happiness is. I came to that conclusion, having worked for state government over twenty years. Resigning in 2003, I decided to return in 2010. The department manager told me at the interview how overqualified I was, but they needed me. He stated, “I am sure you understand that you’re not going to become rich by working for the state”. “Yes, I am aware, I replied. For me, it is about learning and serving others.” Genuine accomplishment is identifying our tangible, distinct significances and, to the best of our abilities, being aware of them now so that we don’t wait on a fairytale to manifest later (Clark, 2014 p9).
My interest in this topic dates back in high school when I realized how much effect sense of belonging had on my education. During elementary school, things used to happen just like I wanted. Teachers, other pupils were quite friendly. In fact, school was the most exciting place I always wanted to be. I was always the best performing pupil in continuous assessment test and end of year’s exams. Things changed when I went to high school. Everyone was very busy with their work. Teachers and fellow were quite serious. I found that my grades were not as excellent as in elementary school. Nothing motivated me. My behavior worsened and at some point, I even wanted to drop out of school as I felt that I was completely out of place. I believe that
According to society, it is displayed that when people are with their family and friends, they are exceeding 31% more in school. This reveals that happiness helps kids to improve in school. In the article, an autobiography, by John Stuart Mill(1909), claims that happiness is focused on too much, and that people are displaying the wrong activities to find it. John Stuart Mill supports the thesis by using his opinion, that the reader could relate to. The author wants to catch the reader’s attention, in order to push them focus on how they are finding happiness. Nevertheless, John Stuart Mill wants the reader to relate to his opinion. For example, when people are kind or help out a friend and always “ask yourself [if] your happy, and if you cease
To begin with, my greatest happiness lies in my freedom. Freedom is a service in achieving happiness, and allows people to create their own path. Choosing my own carrier by the freedom of education affects me positively and makes me happy, because some countries such as China and Iraq do not have freedom of education and cannot choose the career they were interested in. “The main attraction to Iraqi Citizen’s is their freedom, or lack of control by the Iraqi government, allowing students to decide which study and career path they would like, based on individual preference.”(Iraqi education). Due to Iraqis Government most Iraq citizens aren’t happy with their career.
Qualitative analyses were originally conducted with responses from a total sample of 4 students, and the findings were revised and verified after the removal of the small sample of students of the 60 participants,. Four participants provided qualitative responses to the open-ended question, “What factors do you think contribute to life satisfaction and happiness?” Other questions were “What causes you the most stress living in town and or attending the university?” and “What stressful situations are affecting your life at present?” The only questions the participant responded to that had a correlation of (INSERT) and were the contribution of life satisfaction or happiness, because three of them stated that family is important. Two of the participants stated that friends were important. This result is consistent with the literature review by (Edward & Lopez, 2006).
Education is a never-ending learning process that has always been a piece of our life. As education is a building block in our lives, we are eager to put profoundly into our education. Good education will lead us to the bright future. With the fast advancement of public opinion, we have entered an era of information explosion which the necessity of studying abroad has turned into a developing pattern among youth. Most of the students feel that studying abroad is better than studying in local universities. As the saying goes, “the grass always looks greener on the other side of fence.” In this way, I believe that considering abroad have extraordinary points of benefits.
I agree with Aristophanes's Quote that a man's homeland is wherever he prospers. All of us are looking for happiness and satisfaction in our lives. How do these factors come in our lives? The feelings of happiness and satisfaction will definately come to us when we will prosper in our lives. Let me share my personal experience relevant with this quote. I had been working in a reputed IT company for 2 years that is from May 2010 to May 2012. I happened to get a very decent team mates and work environment. Hence because of that I was enjoying my work. We were working with very juvenile spirit and fun was always part of our work culture. The perfect combination of doing highly techincal work but always on happy note. As we were working working
My body was experiencing many mixed emotions; our school has hosted many foreign exchange students in the past, but never have they lived in our home. Yes, we were only going to be hosting them for a week, but I was still feeling this certain form of anxiety as I was driving to the school to meet our two Chinese exchange students. I did not know what to expect, so my mind went straight to thinking of the Chinese culture. At the time, I thought that the average child in China lived a life similar to my American childhood; oh, what little did I know.
From past few years, an exponential growth is seen in the number of India students who preferred to study MBBS abroad. There are, no doubt, many reasons why Indians are choosing to study MBBS abroad. Let us look at the various reasons for Indian students to study MBBS abroad’.
One of the perks of being an Au Pair is the ability to visit other cities and landmarks in your host country. Along with that, you can meet up with other Au Pairs, share your experiences and make new friends.
I found myself very busy but very successful there. I really felt important and secure in this place where I finally belonged. I had a good amount of friends, amongst my peers and teachers as well. It was my own fault for getting used to the comfort of familiarity. It was my own fault for choosing to be miserable and bitter about losing this comfort. It was not my fault that I had to leave though. Life is like a bright light in a dark room in the sense that you can chose to look at what’s illuminated or you can focus on the shadows surrounding it. I focused on the shadows and felt that light grow dim and blurred as darkness swallowed me.
Reentry is the process of returning. The term typically refers to a person who leaves their home environment and after a period of time, returns to that home environment. The majority of reentry literature finds itself within the field of cultural geography. It considers the reentry process for the sojourner, the missionary, the tourist, and the student on a study abroad program. The term, reentry, initially stems from the process of returning to Earth from space, and was utilized in reference to the astronaut-training program (Becker, 1961). The majority of reentry literature focuses on cultural repatriates or sojourners, and those who have spent significant time, typically longer than six months, outside of their home environment, and includes students in study abroad programs, Peace Corps volunteers and missionaries (Adler, 1981; Sussman, 1986; Suzkudlarek, 2010; Ward & Kennedy, 1993; Ward & Kennedy, 1994). Reentry literature has expanded to encompass a variety of contexts, including prisoners who finish their sentence and return to society, soldiers who return from war or combat training, domestic or international tourists, and people returning from expeditions. In order to fully understand the bigger picture of reentry, this paper considers reentry from various lenses and fields of discipline. More so, the psychological, sociological, cultural, sociocultural, and environmental influences within the context of reentry are also something to consider. This paper will take
Any day now the class kickoff plugs will begin flying out and a serious instance of sorrow will spread over the planet for all understudies. Once the sorrow leaves we will understand that we have to make sense of our living conditions. For some understudies it's a simple choice to move far from home, while for others it truly has neither rhyme nor reason. Today I will analyze the pluses and minuses of both moving without end to a school apartment and remaining at home:
