Task 1
Within this report I will recommend the stages I believe that should be carried out to allow the fitness test happened safely, and the policies I believe should be put into place while a volunteer carries out these tests. Prior to doing a lab based fitness test there are many stages you are supposed to carry out to ensure all participants are safe and all risks are reduced or eliminated.
P1
The first test I urge you to carry out would be to do a risk assessment, this will include finding all the hazards that would be a risk to participants. For example; One of the hazards while carrying out the test you will be doing could be if a participant was to wear the wrong type of shoes while doing the beep test this could lead to them injuring themselves by falling over. After collecting all the hazards write down how these risks can be controlled and the extent of the risk. For the example I gave for a hazard that could happen in the test being taken it could be controlled by all participants wearing trainers with good grip, it also is a high risk due to the amount of times the risk is possible to happen. If the risk is a high risk and cannot be reduced I recommend that you do not carry out the test till the risk can be reduced for the safety of participants. The second thing I recommend you should do before doing the test would to be for you to have a PAR-Q test for all participants to fill out before the test so that you as the testy are informed on everything you need to
The FitnessGram is series of tests used to measure the aerobic capacity, physical endurance, height, weight, and flexibility of students. These tests are administered to students by teachers in their physical education classes to gauge their student’s physical capabilities. These tests are mandatory for all able-bodied students to take. The FitnessGram isn’t particularly well liked by students, however many teachers do claim taking them allows students to make healthier choices in their lives. The following paragraphs will outline some benefits and drawbacks of FitnessGram testing.
To ensure that the results gained from a series of fitness tests are valid and reliable you must make sure that the participant is fully
Once a risk assessment has been carried out, and the hazards have been identified, then a method statement can be developed which takes account of the identified hazards. The method statement should be read and understood by all members of staff and volunteers who are directly involved with supervising the children with that activity.
After reviewing the data from the fitnessgram state test, the students need to improve their fitness levels. Between the six different fitness components, the assessments showed that students are struggling the
3. After completing the health history, you prepare for the physical examination. What steps should you include in your assessment?
Unlike most studies and tests that measure and examine jumping ability and leg muscle power, the vertical jump test is extremely inexpensive to conduct. Although the vertical jump test is simple, easy, and quick to perform, there are numerous disadvantages to the test as well. In the vertical jump test, an individual is asked to attempt to touch the wall at the highest point of their jump. When the individual jumps, their technique and form play a large role in maximizing their jump height. The jump height can be affected by not only how much the individual bends their knees before they jump, but also by how effectively the individual uses their arms.
I would ensure that that the participants age, needs and abilities are taken into consideration. These could be specific to one person, eg. pregnancy, sensory
In this assignment I will be introducing a formal report that is based on an investigation into how the body responds to exercise and which analyses the results from the investigation. The investigation involves myself and other pupils in my class. I will be doing the Harvard step test. the other pupils in my class will be monitoring my heart rate, breathing rate and temperature before and after the test.
It is important to assess health and safety risks in order to reduce or eliminate them. Risk assessments are vitally important in order to protect the health and safety of both you and the individual’s you support. You should always check that a risk assessment has been carried out before you undertake any task in order for you to follow the steps identified and reduce any risk posed. There are many regulations that require risks
a. The first thing to do is read the risk assessment folders for the student/students involved in the activity. It is necessary to ensure the activity is safe and appropriate for all the students and staff involved. For example if one of the students was not safe to be near water it would not be safe to include that student on a trip that involved being on or in water of any description, like a trip to the beach.
Safety checks should be carried out to eliminate the risk of putting the safety of people attending a sporting event at risk.
Components of a fitness assessment would include a medical history form, analyzation of risk factors, informed consent form, and suggestions to some form of an actual fitness activity test. This is very useful information as to the existing health status and appropriate procedures to gradually improve present health status. This type of medical care must be made available to obese African American women of the lower socioeconomic level especially since that is a effect obesity.
The study design of the research took place within a span of nine weeks. Before and after the nine weeks of resistance training, several tests were administered to determine the level of muscular strength, jumping ability, sprinting ability, RFD, etc. as they were all much needed requirements specific to the job of firefighting. Other factors were also considered, including height, mass, and size of limbs and chest. Upper and lower bodies of the participants were measured via barbell squats and bench press exercises, using the 1RM method until failure. The values were then recorded. Jumping ability was measured using both vertical and horizontal jumping exercises performed in three to five trials. Warm-ups were performed before the test. RFD or rate of muscular development was measured with a calibrated position transducer which utilized the three values from the upper and lower body 1RPM tests. A TENDO unit cord was used during these tests. These tests were administered throughout the span of over a week in
A psychological assessment is the venture of a capable experts, generally a psychologist, to operate the techniques and tools or materials of psychology to ascertain either common or unique facts about another person, either to notify others how they function now, or estimate their attitude, behavior and functioning in the future. The issue of assessment is generally diagnosis or classification. These are the movement of placing a person in a certainly or loosely characterized category of people. This leads to swiftly grasp what they are similar in general, and to evaluate the existence of other thematic features based upon people similar or likely to them. Case history data, clinical interview, psychological tests and behavioral observations
Carry out an experiment to measure the heart rate and ventilation rate before, during and after moderate exercise.
