The Kurikulum Bersepadu Sekolah Rendah (KBSR) was introduced 1983. It is hoped with this new restructured and improved curriculum. Its aims to equip pupils with skills and provide a basic understanding of the English language so that they are able to communicate, both orally and in writing, in and out of school. The objectives of KBSR is to listen and understand simple spoken English to be able to function in common everyday situations. Moreover, it is also speak and respond clearly and appropriately in common everyday situations using simple language. Other than that, it is also to read and understand different kinds of texts and also to write for different purposes using simple language to show an awareness and appreciation of moral values and love towards the nation. The organisation of KBSR are according to each subject (syllabus / text books). The language contents are the sound system,

Moreover, it is also to make the students to read and comprehend a range of English texts for information and enjoyment and write a range of texts using appropriate language, style and form through a variety of media. Other than that, use correct and appropriate rules of grammar in speech and writing. The disadvantages of KSSR are, students will feel stressed because KSSR syllabus is student cantered. So that students need to involve in every section of lesson. Moreover the also will feel uncomfortable because KSSR syllabus is newly introduced syllabus. So that pupils will catch up the syllabus slowly. At last, KSSR syllabus didn`t make the students to ask questions because they feel shy and scared. Even though all the contents are provided in the textbooks not all the student are going to understand the contents in textbooks and some students feel that the details are not enough for them to understand the lessons very
