INTRODUCTION An organization whose membership consists of workers and union leaders, united to protect and promote their common interests is a simple definition of trade union. The term trade union has different definitions. The employees join unions to improve working conditions by shortening working hours, to increase benefits and especially wages. Since the individual employee feels weak, he prefers to join an organization that may afford him an opportunity to join others for the achievement of those objectives that the employee considers as socially desirable. The employee may join the unions to ensure a just and fair dealing by management. If the management was taking any action which may be foolish, incorrect, or unfair to their general interests. Employees may join some union the broader realization on their part that unions fulfill the important need for adequate machinery for proper maintenance of labor management relations.
