The advantages and disadvantages of using social media accounts, like Facebook, depends on the user
Introduction
Asking a person’s social media account, like Facebook or Twitter, is as common as asking for someone’s number. In this paper, I will be focusing on the advantages and disadvantages of having a social media account, but more specifically, having a Facebook account. On average, there are “1.01 billion daily active users [of Facebook] for September 2015” (“Stats” 1). That means that one out of seven people in the world actively uses Facebook on a daily basis.

Body 1 First of all, I will be discussing the positive aspects of using Facebook; this includes ease of communication to and from various places around the world, convenience in sharing personal experiences through photos, videos, and statuses, and ease of receiving international and national news.

Body 2 It is significantly easier now to communicate with other people despite vast distances compared to how it was before. This is a result of various factors such as internet, communication websites and applications, and mobile devices. Facebook is one of the various mediums for communicating with other people. For example, I immigrated to Canada from the Philippines in 2009, and Facebook made it easy for me to talk to my relatives and friends despite the distance long distance between us.
