Where to live is a common question for most people. Some people prefer to live in the modern city, while others choose to live in the cozy countryside. As far as I am concerned, the advantages of living in the city overweigh those of living in the countryside. I would rather live in the city than in the countryside. I will explain the reasons in the following part.
Initially, city provides people with more job opportunities as well as relatively higher salaries than the countryside. There are multiple companies and institutions in the city, which create plenty of jobs for people to earn their bread. Apart from the quantity of jobs, the quantity of jobs in the cities is normally higher than the jobs offered in the countrysides. Also, since in most cases, cities are more prosperous than countrysides, it is natural that most of the people who live in the city receive higher salaries than those who live in the countryside. I guess those can account for the phenomenon that more and more people, especially young people, are flooding into the cities,

You can watch a play in the theater, go to a crazy concert, visit a museum etc. For me, I cannot stand the life without latest movies. I am a big fan of movies, and my biggest hobby is going to the cinema, watching the latest movies. And for those who are crazy about sports, watching live sports games plays an important part in their lives. I cannot imagine how their lives would fade if there are no live games and how frustrated they would feel if they cannot cheer for their favorite team. Of course people can watch a play, a film or a live transmission of games or concerts online even if they live in the remote countryside and have no access to the above activities. But watching them on the spot is one thing and viewing them online is another. You will feel totally different if you can really go there and join in
The country and the city both offer a place to live, but the pollution, entertainment, crime and education; are all reasons why the country is a better place to live and raise a family. A country girl myself, I currently live in the city with my family, but I would give anything to raise my sons in the country. Although much can be learned in the city, you cannot get that small town morale here nor the manners that come from being raised in a small southern town.
Industrialization brought many jobs for workers in the cities
People in the city generally have much different ways of living and worldviews than people in the country. Adherence to rural customs may begin to slacken, groups of acquaintances and
It has attracted many who are looking for work and a factor of a new exciting way of living. For young men from the rural areas the big cities seemed to offer unlimited job, the ability to enjoy new modern technology such as electricity, transportation, and the telephone. A popular magazine of the era pointed out “The towns are being recruited by those too poor to be able to live in the country as well as by those too rich to be willing to live there”.
There are also other factors that could explain the big differences between these cities. The ethnic and racial makeup of the people living there and their educational levels could be a big difference. To really explain the increase or decline in both these cities is difficult because the two areas that I choose are so very different in population is really the biggest difference.
Increasing numbers of people beginning to migrate to cities to find work, instead of working in the
There are definitely more conveniences living in the city. Grocery stores are within blocks from your home, a gas station is to be found on every corner, and banks and hospitals are within walking distance. Living in the country means commuting to get to these places. It also means having to be prepared and making several stops to get all things accomplished in one day to avoid traveling back and forth several times in one week.
America, in the early colonial years, was mostly country. Multitudes of people lived on farms, and few towns existed. As time has passed, America has innovated, and now millions of prodigious cities overpower the dwindling areas of the country. Because of the numerous towns, rarely any Americans have experienced the modest country life. Some individuals believe that the city is superior to the nation only by considering the conveniences that the city possesses. However, nearly all Americans have yet to realize the specialness of this country. It is an improved place to live in the city because it is peaceful, self sufficient, and beautiful.
If you had the choice to live in the city or in the country, which would you choose? Are you the hustle-bustle type who cannot seem to find enough hours in one day? Or are you someone who is much more easy-going and would rather have all of the time in the world to finish one assignment? City dwellers and country dwellers may be only a few miles apart, but what they do in their leisure time is often be completely different.
The convenience of living in an urban or suburban neighborhood can be appealing to many people. Choosing between areas can sometimes be overwhelming for some individual. People are not only concerned about the safety of a community, but they are also concerned about the environment. Although some neighborhoods might look attractive, people should consider the expense that comes with it, and how commuting will affect them in the long run. Nevertheless, both neighborhoods have their specific advantages and disadvantages. When choosing between an urban or suburban neighborhood, it is important for people to research the community, the expense, and convenience
Throughout history, the evolution of communities and societies has been influenced by the local and global economy. Large cities emerged from vibrant business activity and flow of products and services. For the most part
Many families and individuals find themselves at some point questioning the advantages of city living versus country living. It is nearly impossible to find a good answer to this question. What is good for one person might not be good for another. Some people enjoy the busy, hyper active metropolitan city where they can use all amenities and have unlimited opportunities for work and leisure. At the same time, other people feel the urge to be closer to Mother Nature, relaxation, beauty, and peace. They take pleasure in living in the calm and peaceful environment of the countryside and spending their free time fishing, hiking, picking berries in the woods, or playing in the creek. In my opinion, the nature
Another two differences between these places of living are job opportunities and cost of living. There are more job opportunities in the city. People in the countryside have their farms. They grow different vegetables, fruits and make money on it. For instance, In Mekong delta farmers make two crops a year. They are Summer-Autumn yield and Winter-Spring yield (“What’s the difference”, n.d.). Between these seasons of crop there is a distance. They do not do anything during this period. In contrast, most people move to the city in order to find a job because it is easier there. For person who has a good education, the city is the best way to earn money because different offices, companies, factories are located in cities (“What’s the difference”, n.d.). For example, there are ChoRay hospital, Sacombank, Vietnam Airlines, National University in Ho Chi Minh city and these companies usually hire masters, doctors, engineers (“What’s the difference”, n.d.). Also another difference between them is a cost of living. The cost of living in the city is higher than the countryside, for instance goods are more expensive there (“Rural area”, n.d.). In the country, most people have the sufficient economy. They can grow plants and breed animals so expenditures are lower and they can live on their own. The country life is simple and comfortable. Nevertheless, to rent a house, to buy food and to use a transport is more expensive in the city but the
First, city life and countryside life are different from population. In big cities there are many people who live there, because job opportunities are abundant and the opportunity of better education. In fact, people live in urban areas because they want to have good jobs to get more money, and one of the best ways to achieve that is education. Nowadays, there are a lot of good universities and college that are totally located in
Although living in the city has many advantages there are some disadvantages too, the cost of the living is very high in the city, the city is always noisy, no fresh air and pure water. So it is hard to lead a healthy life. On other hand the village the undeveloped area for example, we cannot easily get many facilities the insufficient medical and education facilities, few opportunities to make money, little entertainment, no or little public transportation, also less facilities than a big city offers.
