This essay explore the idea of how in the Film “Life Of Pi”, adversity can make an individual adapt to difficult circumstances. The role that adversity plays is important because it can alter the way an individual reacts or adapts to difficult situations. When an individual is faced with challenging circumstances, one must be able to conquer and adapt to the culture in order to survive. In the novel turned film “Life of Pi” originally written by, Yann Martel and directed by, Ang Lee, the idea about the role adversity plays in altering an individuals ability to adapt is explored.

In Life of Pi, the movie displays an tragic shipwreck, which leaves a boy and a tiger for dead in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, without any survival tools or prior experiences. The boy, also known as Pi, is left with an Adult Bengal Tooth Tiger. A vicious animal preying at all times. The role that adversity plays in the film has Pi leaving no choice than to adapt to the culture around him While an average young boy or in-fact any person would freak out and lose hope, Pi decides that the wanted to fight and survive. HE must stay far from the tiger. With the tiger being on the boat, at first, it is impossible for Pi to be on the same boat. Pi, finds many helpful items in the boat. He find water and food which he transports to his raft away from the malicious tiger. As time passes, the tiger is getting hungrier and Pi's fear that the tiger would devour him are near. One night, a huge whale slams into Pi's boat causing him to lose all his food and fresh water. Being stranded in the middle of the sea knowing death was around the corner makes Pi want to fight and
