African Americans: A Letter To James Johnson

Satisfactory Essays
Hello my name James Johnson, and I am a enslaved african american that is currently living on a plantation in the territory of North Carolina. I am twenty five years old, and ever since I can remember, I have always been interested in human rights for the people of my race who are constantly faced with criticism, prejudice, and inequality. The things that concern me most, are the fact that african americans do not receive human rights or individual right within the country of america. This is because enslaved africans are considered property and not human beings. Another one of my concerns, is the fact that not all states will have slavery outlawed, and this will mean that I will not be granted my freedom unless I decide to try and escape.
