I have chosen to dissect two West African countries, Sierra Leon and Ghana, along with Peru located in South America and lastly the United States located in North America. Sierra Leon is a British established colony founded in 1787 for slaves returning to Africa from Great Britain and also the United States, its primary language is Krio spoken by 97% of citizens. Sierra Leone became an independent country within the Commonwealth of Nations on April 27 of 1961 and Freetown was deemed the capital city. Sierra Leone holds a population of 6,453,184 and population density of 89.4 per square kilometer. In spite that this country is very poor it still suffers the consequences of the Civil war. Yet its mineral, farming and angling assets still ensures potential for monetary future developments. Earnest Bai Koroma is the current President of Sierra Leon. Earnest Bai Koroma is a graduate from the oldest University in West Africa, Fourth Bay College class of 1976, born October 2 1953. Sierra Leon Presidential term limit consists of a maximum of 2 five-year term limits. Earnest BK is now serving his 2nd term as of 2007. During Earnest Bai Presidency Sierra Leonean faced detrimental governmental issues, commanded by the Ebola epidemic in West Africa in 2014. As the nation experienced the most exceedingly sicknesses ever. The President was condemned for the Government slow reaction and for the outrageous measures it took, for example, "shutting down" the whole nation to check the spread

In Africa, there were achievements in the empires and their cities before the Europeans arrived and maintained control. In the Kingdom of Ghana they had characteristics of powerful nations today and made fortunes due to the gold and salt trade. In the city of Timbuktu they had great stories, and developed the center of Art. There are also many other things that Africa achieved in.

Prior to the cilvic war, the people of Sierra Leoner have shared an intimate relationship with each other, they were a tight communities, until the war took away their lives, forcefully turning the family against each other.
When Sierra Leone was colonized, it was considered a rich environment for slave trade, they referred to human beings like a natural resource that Sierra Leone was abundant in. Eventually, when slave trade was made illegal, though, in an attempt to try and mend what they had done, Britain sent former slaves to live in Sierra Leone, and eventually the US followed suit. This made it so all the native cultures that were already there got mixed in and even distorted with American and British slave culture and in some cases other forms of European culture. This severely impacted the overall culture and, therefore, made the government more vulnerable to “traditions” getting out of hand.
Sierra Leone is a small country found on the west coast of Africa. The country shares a border with the Atlantic Ocean, Liberia, and Guinea. Sierra Leone has a population of 5,525,000 people, and 27,699 square miles of land. In 1462 Freetown, Sierra Leone was founded by Pedro da Cintra, a Portuguese explorer from Lagos, Portugal. da Cintra originally named the country Sierra Lyoa , the Lion Mountains, but in 1787 the British officially adopted Sierra Lyoa changing its name to its modern day spelling- Sierra Leone. This small country has faced many horrors within its history. The Sierra Leone civil war is a major contributing factor to the country’s current state of poverty and corruption. Most problems that the country faces today all stem
Sierra Leone endured a three-day lockdown. The lockdown forced the people to stay in their homes, and permitted them from moving about the country. During this time, Houses were searched and 130 new cases of Ebola were found. The Ebola virus can have a mortality rate up to 90%, which is greatly affecting Sierra Leones population of 6.1 million people.
Sierra Leone is a country located on the west coast of Africa in between present day Guinea and Liberia. To the left is an image Sierra Leone and its bay depicted on a map. Sierra Leone was only discovered by the Europeans in the 15th century and at that point it was only a small Portuguese colony based around the slave trade and some timber export. There are about 16 ethnicities in Sierra Leone with two major groups, those being the Temne and the Mende. (Ross, 2002)
For eleven years, civil war desecrated the infrastructure throughout the small African nation of Sierra Leone. Tens of thousands were killed, and human suffering was widespread. More than a decade of constant fighting between the government and relentless rebels left the country in ruins. Roads were destroyed, bridges burned, buildings left in shambles, and the power supply nearly eliminated. The United Nations intervened, and assisted the government of Sierra Leone in establishing peace and setting up fair and honest, multi-party elections. The new government has since struggled in rebuilding the war-torn nation. More than half of Sierra Leoneans live in poverty, and nearly half are food insecure. Years of food shortages left nearly a third
Sierra Leone is a country with much history. It has many historical sites and great mines that contain so much “treasure”. Its economy is still growing and they’re trying to improve themselves. They’re a diverse country with different ethnic groups and languages but socially and culturally they can agree on the way they eat, what type of music they like, and what they do for fun. This country is unique and is growing from the past to a modern future.
Government officials in Africa argue the inefficient response during the critical threshold and the amount of money spent on establishing an American health care system parallels the imperialism movement and has left the countries vulnerable to future outbreaks, indebted and currently still unprepared. The monetary “loans”, less than half of which actually reached affected countries last year failed to educate the public (Duval). This raises the question of owing money that was not distributed to tackle immediate threats but attempted to repair years of corruption and unstable health care
On the hand, even to this day it is experiencing some major health issues, some they have found a way to eradicate or drastically decrease the amount of of people infected with these disease while others have been a lot more challenging. Ebola was a virus that the government of Sierra Leone made their goal to have zero of its people infected with at a certain point in time and the accomplished it. HIV/AIDS is a virus that affects thousands of men, women and children in Sierra Leone. On a good note, studies do show that there is a decrease in the number of new cases of infection. Malaria is one of those diseases that the Sierra Leonean people think they’ll never get rid of. It affects everyone of all races and ages. These illnesses and epidemics may weaken the economy and government of the country but the government is not giving up. As long as the country continues to put effort toward growth, it should continue to see
The continent of Africa has been exposed to countless of years of tragedy including forced slavery and colonialism. One of the most devastating hits to Africa is the civil war that occurred in Sierra Leone from 1991 to 2002. This country experienced a decade long war in an endeavor to achieve economic stability and a democratic political system for Sierra Leoneans. There are many facets that contributed to the warfare that occurred in the small nation, from the reason why the conflict started, the numerous participants and their affiliations, and cessation as well as the effects thereafter.

Their political organizations Many historians try to hide the fact that Africa had some of the most civilized societies long before the western world. In fact, three such empires were extremely powerful, Mali, Ghana and Songhai. The Mali Empire had a very organized government.
People in the Sierra Leone have massive problems and sad stories of what they have seen in their lives. During time of Sierra Leone war, many rebels attacked people in the villages and other places. This left people with nothing to have and several families died or were lost. Numerous amounts of people in Serra Leone live in the refugee camps, which they have faced their own struggles whether you see them or not. This makes their lives harder and it is not easy for them to express their feelings. Meanwhile, this causes a plethora of people to live with fear and a small hope of living in the country. The leaders and security guards in Sierra Leone tries to get domestic needs for the refugees, get protection for the refugees, and get all
