Air Pollution

Air pollution is a combination of gases and solid particles in the air. Air pollution can also be described as harmful substances that pollute the earth’s atmosphere. Air pollution refers to the contamination of the air, indoors, or outdoors. Air pollution occurs when hazardous substances such as dust, lead, or smoke enter the atmosphere and make it difficult for not only humans, but plants and animals to survive because of the quality of the air. Some examples of air pollutants are carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, and other toxic air pollutants. The problem with air pollution doesn't just affect the atmosphere but also the present and future life on our planet; there are also causes, effects, and solutions to this problem.
Air pollution doesn’t just happen on it’s own there are things that contribute to air pollution. The burning of fossil fuels is one cause of air pollution. Some examples of fossil fuels are coal, natural gas, and oil. Fossil fuels contribute to the amount of sulfur dioxide that is emitted into the atmosphere. Not only is burning fossil fuels a problem but the exhaust from air planes, trucks, vehicles, factories, and industries are also a problem. The exhaust from these vehicles can cause nitrogen oxide and carbon monoxide to be emitted to the atmosphere.
Nitrogen oxide, or NOx, is a group of gases composed of nitrogen and oxygen and are released to the air through vehicle exhaust and the burning of fuels, natural gas, and oil. Nitrogen oxide is also the main contributor to smog, acid rain, and the tropospheric ozone. It is one of the factors that is destroying the ozone layer in the atmosphere. NOx can make it hard for you to see, cause difficulty breathing, burning of the tissues in the throat, and can cause the body to interfere with the blood's ability to carry oxygen to the body.

There are also indoor causes of air pollution. Many household supplies can release toxic chemicals into the air and cause air pollution. Some sources can be pollen, mold, and even some pesticides. These toxic chemicals can make it hard to breathe when they used and released into the air.
Mining is another cause of air pollution. Mining happens when minerals
