The Ara Pacis (Latin, “Altar of Peace”) is a monument commissioned by the Roman Senate honoring the return of Emperor Augustus in 13 B.C.E. after his successful diplomatic missions to Gaul and Spain, which finally brought peace to the Roman Empire after years of war. The Ara Pacis was built in Rome’s Field of Mars, a vast plain where the military traditionally trained for battle. Building this peace monument on a field named for Mars, the god of war, symbolized the end of war and the establishment of an era of peace. The ceremonial dedication of the Ara Pacis took place on January 30 in the year 9 B.C.E.
Abraham lives is West Point and was born April 24th 1998 to Mr.Keita and Manifing Kamre during Liberia’s brutal civil war. Abraham's dad died when Abraham was five years old while working for a driver. What blows my mind is he started fighting for child abuse at age nine. He wanted to be like his dad and still does today, and he knows his dad would be really proud of him, as well as his mom who is a great supporter to him - now his dad is his inspiration to help and protect kids. He got furious when someone shot an innocent fifteen year old kid for no reason in town while taking part in one of Abraham's peaceful protests, also when a thirteen year old girl was sexually abused and murdered by her foster

The bust is said to be painted with stucco-coated limestone, created in 1345 B.C by Thutmose who was a talented sculptor. The bust was discovered in 1912 in Thutmose’s workshop by Ludwig Borchardt and his archaeological team. The bust had many owners in Germany throughout the years, however, it is currently on display at the Neues Museum in Berlin. The Nefertiti bust is a cultural phenomenon, especially for ancient Egypt as well as Berlin. Germany had the bust for over a century now and it has been their pride and joy. The argument between Egypt and Germany over the bust has been going on for decades. Egypt believes that the bust belongs to them and that it was taken

This first act as king brought with him a shocking speculation and hostility between his throne and the priesthood of Amun. Inside the temple was an entirely new style of art, which was often described, as “naturalistic” in Akhenaten’s portrayal of the human body. No longer was the Pharaoh portrayed as half animal with the perfect body fitted for the afterlife. Akhenaten and the royal family were shown with long toes, massive hips, extremely long fingers, skinny torso, ample breasts, big buttocks, and an elongated face. This exaggeration of the royal family’s bodies altered classic Egyptian art and became better known as Amarna Art.

We are still finding evidence of paintings and artifacts as of today. Some of the paintings of ancient Egypt have stood the test of time due to Egypt’s dry climate. Most of the paintings were done on walls and in caves and in funeral tombs to depict the life of the deceased and offer a pleasant passage. A famous painting that was done by the Egyptians is called Judgment before Osiris. This painting was done on papyrus and depicted a scale and judgment. If the heart of the deceased was lighter than the feather of truth then their soul could enter afterlife.
