Albert Einstein- The 20th Century Science Hero
Albert Einstein is considered the most influential physicist of the 20th century. He is known for developing the theories of relativity. He is also noted for his mathematical formula of E = mc² (David Bodanis). Although he was not directly involved in the Manhattan Project, which was responsible for creating the atomic bomb, but he is still considered the mastermind because of his breakthrough formula. In 1921, he won the Nobel Prize for physics for his explanation of the photoelectric effect (A. Calaprice & T. Lipscombe).
The Einstein’s were a secular, middle class Jewish family. Albert’s father Hermann Einstein was a salesman and an engineer who owned a company that manufactured

Other European scientists also fled various countries threatened by Nazi takeover and came to the United States. Some of these scientists knew of Nazi plans to develop an atomic weapon. For a time, their warnings to Washington, D.C. went unheeded (David Bodanis).
In the summer of 1939, Einstein, along with another scientist, Leo Szilard, was persuaded to write a letter to President Franklin D. Roosevelt to alert him of the possibility of a Nazi bomb. President Roosevelt could not risk the possibility that Germany might develop an atomic bomb first. The letter is believed to be the key factor that motivated the United States to investigate the development of nuclear weapons. Roosevelt invited Einstein to meet with him and soon after the United States initiated the Manhattan Project (M. Talmey).
Not long after he began his career at the Institute in New Jersey, Albert Einstein expressed an appreciation for the "meritocracy" of the United States and the right people had to think what they pleased—something he didn’t enjoy as a young man in Europe (David Bodanis).
In 1935, Albert Einstein was granted permanent residency in the United States and became an American citizen in 1940. As the Manhattan Project moved from drawing board to testing and development at
Albert Einstein once said, “Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one had learned in school” (brainyquote.com). Albert Einstein was a scientist who strongly believed in the importance of education and knowledge and worked so that the entire world could know more about what’s around them. Albert Einstein is important in American history because of his many scientific discoveries and some of his efforts during World War 1.
Albert Einstein was born on March 15, 1879, in the southern Germany city Ulm. Both of Einstein’s parents were Jewish, although they did not strictly practice the religion. As a adolescent he was very dull, in fact his parents first thought he might have been mentally challenged because he
Albert Einstein was one of the most intelligent, driven and moral minds of the 20th century. His early preparation in education and wonder greatly contributed to his eventual success and scientific advancements for the world.
Albert Einstein was one the greatest mind in the 1900s. In 1905 he went on to achieve worldwide fame for his general theory of relativity and received a Nobel Prize in 1921. After Hitler gain control of Germany he emigrated from Germany to the United States. In the 1930s Einstein theories included his equation E=Mc2 which later help form the foundation for the atomic bomb. In the late 1939
Albert Einstein, the acclaimed theoretical physicist, became Albert Einstein when his passion for physics and
strong improvement over "extremely strong bombs respecting a current type" and recommending then a good deal the U.S. begin same research. This subsequently carried between conformity including so would arrive in conformity with lie the Manhattan Project. Einstein supported the Allied forces, but usually denounced the notion regarding the usage concerning the newly located nuclear part namely a weapon. Later, including the British logician Bertrand Russell, Einstein signed the Russell–Einstein Manifesto, which highlighted the jeopardy concerning nuclear weapons. Einstein united together with the famous Institute for Advanced Study between Princeton, New Jersey, until his death among 1955. Einstein published extra more than over 300 scientific papers evolving his works and theories along with over one hundred fifty non-scientific works. Einstein's intellectual achievements or originality hold performed the word "Einstein" synonymous along "genius." Life then profession Early existence then education. Albert Einstein used to be a German-born physicist anybody has modified the ethnic conception over time, space and the universe by using his quintessential theory over relativity. Although Albert Einstein used to be no longer very good at school, his amour because physics then arithmetic emboldened him in conformity with run up the prestigious then Zurich Polytechnic. After graduating Makowski’s course, she continued his studies while counsel mathematics. In 1905, he received
During this time, the world’s most intelligent scientists discovered that German physicists were learning to produce a bomb that could cause immense destruction. The fear of such a bomb led scientists Albert Einstein and Enrico Fermi to inform President Franklin D. Roosevelt of Germany’s plans. Renowned scientist, Albert Einstein had fled Nazi persecution and was by then living in the United States; he delivered a letter to President Roosevelt on October 11, 1939. In the letter,
Albert Einstein was a scientist who was very smart he was one of the most popular scientist of modern science. He is most famous for the Theory of Relativity. This formed the theory for the release of atomic energy. Which then was used in World War II to bomb Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan. An atomic bomb is a bomb that gets it power from the release of
The word honor means high respect or esteem. To me honor is a feeling that you have toward someone who has done or achieved something that that you find honorable of respectful. Einstein had many honorable accomplishments that contributed to things we still do and think of today.
Scientist Dr. Albert Einstein, who fled Nazi persecution, and Enrico Fermi, who escaped Italy, were now living in the U.S. They had agreed that the President needs to be informed of the dangers of the atomic technology! Fermi went off to Washington in March to explain his concerns to Government officials. But few shared his uneasiness.
Albert Einstein was undoubtedly one of the geniuses of the twentieth century. His work with gravity, relativity, light, and the universe helped to herald in a golden age for the study of science, of which scientists are still marveling at and studying today. Additionally, he was well-known for his participation in the Manhattan Project and the construction of the two atomic bombs. Along with numerous other scientists such as Fermi and Szilard, Einstein came to the realization that Nazi Germany was on its way to constructing
“I have no special talent. Einstein should be #1 on the Time Magazine’s Top 100 Most Influential People of the Century because he helped form the basis of the development of the atomic bomb, won a number of awards, and he made many advances in science. Albert Einstein has been very influential in the world of science. He helped form a plan for the first atomic bomb which helped put an end to World War II. “...Einstein’s theories, including his equation E=mc2, helped form the basis of the development of the atomic bomb…”
Adolf Hitler seized complete control in 1934 and began to Discriminate against specific religions and ethnicities. The main group Target by Hitler 's Regime was the Jewish community. Top Jewish scientists were fired and many fled the country to escape the Nazis and continue their research. Einstein fled to the United states in 1933 before Hitler gained complete control and Fermi in 1938. Both continued experiments on atomic energy at Universities in the U.S. The following year, the threat was realized when German scientists published the results of a successful attempt at creating a nuclear fission reaction. With a vast knowledge of the danger the test imposes on the world, Einstein sends a letter to President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. In the letter, he urges the FDR to recognize the pending threat and begin to accelerate research and experimentation on a nuclear weapon. He also asks to stockpile the radioactive substance uranium and to fund a project to create the weapon. Both Uranium and money were necessary to beat the Germans in nuclear power, so the Manhattan project is born. General Leslie Groves is placed in command of the project while J. Robert Oppenheimer is named the lead scientist. As the war continued, the Manhattan project was placed as top priority and also deemed top secret. It was moved to Los Alamos, New Mexico in 1943. The race was underway and now in full swing.
“Albert einstein was born in Ulm, Germany he even own a nobel prize for physics” (Gale, 2008, WWW). Einstein is one of the most memorable, popular, and some would even say the most successful scientist. Doing research on electrons einstein discover electromagnetism was wrapped in the energy of electrons. Einstein gave credit to other scientist such as James Clerk Maxwell and even went as far as to say they set they set the platform for modern physics. Another scientist that helped with this discovery was Heinrich Hertz. In the 1880s Hertz produced electromagnetic waves, these waves went farther than visible light could these waves are now called radio waves. “Hertz (Gale, 2006, WWW)contributed quite a bit to electromagnetism, not only did he discover the waves but he did research in the topic of electromagnetic radiation.” He didn't always want to be a scientist in fact he studying engineering at the university of
Albert Einstein was considered a middle-class Jew. He was born March 14, 1879 in Württemberg, Germany. Albert Einstein family relocated to Munich, Germany and he began to go to school there. When he was a going to school things that got his attention were math, science and music. Even though he was interested in those subjects he dropped out of school 1894 as, many teens do. Then relocated himself in Switzerland in 1902 were he ended up going back to school. When he began going to school there he started to take a science course. Einstein father passed away thinking his son was a disgrace to the family.
