Albrecht Dürer, born on the 21st of May, 1471. He was a painter, woodcutter, and engraver, who became famous at a very young age. He was a renown artist of his time, who was a master at painting scenes. Although Albrecht's life was very well documented, compared to other artists of his time, Albrecht had an uninteresting life. But his life was a full one, leading to many great works of art. Albrecht Dürer was born on the 21st of May, 1471. Albrecht Dürer the Elder was a renown goldsmith in Nuremberg, Germany. Albrecht was one his parents' first children, and because Albrecht became famous very young, his life was recorded better than other artists of his time. At the age of fifteen, Albrecht was apprenticed to a local painter, despite his father's hope that Albrecht would become a goldsmith. Under the tutelage of Michael Wolgemut, Albrecht acquired his skills in painting, wood carving, and copper engraving. In 1494, Albrecht married Agnes Frey, the daughter of a brass worker from Nuremberg. Albrecht then left Nuremberg, and traveled to Italy, where furthered his artistic skills. …show more content…

Upon his return to Germany, Albrecht began to incorporate some of the Italian artistic styles that he learned on his trip, with the Northern Renaissance artistic forms. Many of the woodcuts that Albrecht created were more complex and detailed than most of the woodcuts prior to his work, but the method he used to prepare for his carving is unknown.
