His genius flourished in the post-civil war period with a lot of room in the invention space his entering skills were the gold of the time. Working with alexander gram bell on the telephone he helps draft the patent for bell's design for the telephone. He was also involved in the field of incandescent lighting, a particularly competitive field, working for Hiram Maxim and Thomas Edison.

Bell had long been fascinated by the idea of transmitting speech, and by 1875 had come up with a simple receiver that could turn electricity into sound. Bell worked with Thomas Watson on the design and patent of the first practical telephone. Alexander Graham Bell thought he was on to something, but no one wanted his new invention. In all, Bell held 18 patents in his name alone and 12 that he shared with collaborators. United States Patent No. 174,465 was issued to Alexander Graham Bell in 1876, and became recognized as the most valuable patent in history. He died on August 2, 1922, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Liberty Bell     The Liberty Bell is a bell that is known for being rung in the tower of the the Independence Hall in 1776 for the Proclamation of the Declaration of Independence. It rang to bring the people of Philadelphia together to hear the very first public announcement of the Declaration of Independence by Colonel John Nixon. The abolitionists later put their efforts together to abolish slavery and America made the Liberty Bell a symbol of their freedom which enabled it to become an iconic importance. The Liberty Bell is located in Philadelphia, PA. and it's a prominent symbol to the Revolutionary War.

The Liberty Bell holds an influential message that symbolizes independence and freedom. The monument bears a significant interpretation of liberty and represents a nation uniting during times of hardship. It signified a petition to end slavery and commence equality as it was a symbol of abolition and civil rights movements. To this day, the Liberty Bell continues to inspire and illustrate equal opportunity for all those that resides in the United States.

Benjamin Franklin is known best for being the president of the United States or you may know him for his inventions or his writings, but there is so much more to him than just that. He is a man of wisdom and integrity. This is why I chose him as my figure of interest in my research. Early in 1874 Bell met Thomas A. Watson, a young machinist at a Boston electrical shop. Watson became Bell’s indispensable assistant, bringing to Bell’s experiments the crucial ingredient that had been lacking, his technical expertise in electrical engineering. Together the two men spent endless hours experimenting (Paschoff 43,44). Although Bell formed the basic concept of the telephone using a varying but unbroken electric current to transmit the varying sound waves of human speech, in the summer of 1874, Hubbard insisted that the young inventor focus his efforts on the harmonic telegraph instead. Bell wanted to continue his work on the telephone but he complied. When he patented one of his telegraph designs in February 1875, he found that Elisha Gray had patented a multiple telegraph two days earlier. Greatly discouraged, Bell consulted in Washington with the elderly Joseph Henry, who urged Bell to pursue his “germ of a great invention” speech transmission (Grosvenor and Wesson 55).

After Thomas Edison's successful invention of the stock printer, he learned that the market forces are important for engineering inventors. He then learned from his mistake, not knowing much about that specific market, and ended up creating a few of his best inventions. As time passed and Edison had more practice with inventions, he made more and more inventions that deeply impacted the world. Edison was able to look at the world and see what it flaws, what is missing from the world, and find an invention that will solve the issue. He invented the first telephone. Alexander Graham Bell worked with deaf kids seeking to invent a machine that would transmit sound waves by electricity. So, he established a school for the deaf. He also invented the wheat busker, the harmonic telegraph, the metal detector, and the hydrofoil boat. Since the phone is one of the most used devices in times today he clearly impacted us. Alexander may have not created the IPhone but he had the idea of phones and how they would work. His invention has just evolved into the phones used today like Androids and IPhones.
