Alexander Milton Ross Alexander Milton Ross was born December 13, 1832 in Belleville, Canada. He was born into a family with extensive backgrounds that holds legacies. One family member that left a legacy behind was his great grandfather who was a captain in the army that battled for Quebec. Alexander loved his mother so much that the love he had for her led him to have a love for nature and freedom. At the age of 11 he lost his father in death he begin having to take care himself. After moving to New York Alexander started having an interest in several things. He became a physician than later be became an abolitionist, author, naturalist and reformer. Alexander grew an interest in an outbreak of smallpox that killed more than 3,000 people.
Benjamin Oliver Davis Jr. was born in Washington. D.C. on December 18, 1912, the son of Benjamin O. Davis, Sr. and Elnora Dickerson Davis. His father was a renowned military officer, the first Black General in the United States Army. Benjamin, Sr. served in various capacities (beginning in the Spanish-American war) including serving in one of the original Buffalo Soldier regiments. He was instead assigned to the 24th Infantry Regiment, an all-Black division located in Fort Benning, Georgia. Although an officer, he was not permitted to enter the officer's club on the base. After attending the U.S. Army Infantry School, he followed in his father’s footsteps and traveled to Tuskegee, Alabama to teach a military tactics course at the Tuskegee
In 1812 Fort Ross was finished in its construction and allowed the Russian government to claim the northern part of California and Alaska. The fort also was a major key religious place because it had been constructed with the Greek Orthodox Chapel integrated into the design for religious practices when the Russians were in the area. Import and export were also a major part of the economy in Fort Ross because of the high request for furs of beavers, seals, sea lions, and sea otters to make high quality items such a hats, scarves, and coats, which forced the fort to have to be where it is because they needed the abundance of the material to keep the economy going. Second, Bob learned how to paint in his time during service. He spent every minute of his spare time learning how to paint off of tv shows. Once he left the military, he had his own painting show on pbs. Lastly, Bob made a lot of money off of his products. Ross didn’t make any money off of his painting show, but he did make money off of his own line of art supplies, like brushes, and oil paints.

Calder was mainly influenced by artistic parents. His mother was a painter and his father were a sculptor. Alexander Calder was an American artist who refined sculpture through the introduction of the element of movement first by the performances of his mechanical Calder’s Circus and afterwards through motorized works, and finally using hanging works referred to as mobiles (Geis, 2014).
In the course of this paper I will be analyzing Alexander Calder’s work through the Psychoanalysis approach, specifically Psychobiography as I discuss the many influences throughout his life, both people and experiences, which informed his prolific body of work, in addition to it being a direct reflection of his personality.
