As mentioned in the case study, the client has endured familial abuse and addictions. The client has resorted to poor coping mechanisms through substance abuse in order to cope with his unresolved trauma, and this has lead him to develop unhealthy behaviours. The system has failed Johnny by not providing him with the necessary skills he needs in order to overcome his trauma and addictions.
