In addition, since Charles VII suspected the League of Venice was to prevent him from getting the lands he wants in Italy, he ordered the French army to make a withdrawal his army from the battles and fights they were about to get him. This was to make sure that happens before the treaty is mobilized. On the hand, since Savonarola position was not challenge, he was winning over his enemies more than the converting people to become Catholics. Due to this, he wanted to reform the church in Naples and this is how he met Pope Alexander VI.
Alexander the Great was the king of Macedonia, conqueror of the Persian Empire, and one of the greatest military geniuses of all times. Even at an early age, Alexander had the promise to become a great leader. Through all his victories and conquests, he has become a great hero and has had a large impact on history. That is why I chose he book Alexander the Great, by J.R. Hamilton for my review. Hamilton does a very good job with the story of Alexander the Great.
Alexander the Great was born in Macedonia in the year 356 BCE. Alexander's father King Philip built the Macedonian army into a "deadly fighting machine". Next Philip planned to attack the huge Persian Empire. Philip was assassinated in 336 BCE and at age of 20 Alexander inherited his father's kingdom and set out with the army to conquer Persian. Alexander leads his troops across Central Asia. Is Alexander the Great living up to his name? I will show you why Alexander deserves his name to be great.
Pope Urban felt it was up to the papacy and the Church to fight the evil that has been plaguing the Byzantine Empire along with places such as Spain. Emperor Alexius I requested help from Pope Urban to fight the Muslims in the Byzantine Empire. Pope Urban appealed this military might in his speech at Clermont. During his speech, the pope made no mention of conquering Jerusalem and in fact, his goal during his speech was to convert Muslims to Christianity and reunite the Eastern Church with the West.

The first reason Alexander the Great was a villain is he eliminated . Alexander showed that he could be king as soon as he could become the king of Macedonia. “Alexander The Great began his reign by eliminating potential rivals to the throne, including his cousin, the former Amyntas IV, who was executed.”(FACTSlides) After that Alexander marched south to Thebes( the start of the problem about Alexander was too young to be king) and conquered their city. Showing just how powerful Alexander was he then marched to Athens, When he got there no one wants to oppose him. Instead of punishing Athens he gives them a proposition, if Athens and Sparta band together to help defeat the Persians with Alexander and provides everything that is needed for
Alexander the Great, a great general, conqueror, and king of Macedon, returned to Susa for a great victory celebration. This was after he had returned from a long military campaign spanning all the way from Greece to Egypt and back into India. However, he would not be allowed to enjoy this celebration for long. He’d became ill after attending a private drinking party and over the course of the next ten to eleven days he couldn’t overcome his illness. Now this is what was told by his generals and friends, but there were more things working behind the back of Alexander. Through his campaign, he was injured multiple times he even took an arrow that punctured his lung, and when he returned to Susa he surely had his

History has bared through many conquerors, good and bad, honorable and corrupt, weak and insane, but through all of this came something of superiority. Civilizations rise and fall like the tides of the ocean and conquerors change positions like the phases of the moon. There will always be points when society must suffer through the worst in order to peak at the top and progress over these spans of time. It is the ones who bring these evolutions across the eras that earn the titles of the people, the leaders, who shall be remembered. With each and every one one of these leaders comes something new, an addition, an expansion, an enhancement, to the past, present, and future of this world. The golden age of Alexander the Great brought an extensive amount of influences, improvements, and times of bliss into our history.
Through many history books and writings, many historians write about Phillip III, or most commonly known as Alexander the Great. Maybe because of how successful he was or maybe just because of how he had such a major impact in history. They tend to focus on the advantages he created, and the success Alexander the Great had as a leader not just in the military aspect of his reign, but also as a leader in the political side. The history shows the impacts and changes brought from the military, from which Alexander the Great lead, and the spreading of Greek culture he influenced through the areas he conquered. As Alexander the Great dedicated his life to further advancing his power, the world would never be same at the time for surrounding villages and empires that tried to defend their land against Alexander the Great with his army and allies.
Alexander the great, hero or over rated? I think both because he did good thing but also bad things. For starters he was a good military leader BUT had a short temper which meant that he could snap at any moment. He drank heavily and when he did his temper raged like wildfire causing him to destroyed the ancient city of persepolis. He never lost a major battle but never put himself as a human in certain situations.
Alexander was actually a very great and young Macedonian king. He conquered many lands, which every king does at some point, but unlike other heartless kings, Alexander showed compassion to rebels. He saved the lives of an unapologetic woman, several priests, the family of famous poet, and several citizens. Alexander felt regret for those he could not save and tried to spare the lives of as many citizens as possible.
The greatest conquering king in the world; King of Macedonia and conqueror of Persia, Alexander the Great is considered to be one of the greatest military geniuses ever. With his amazing diplomatic skills and military genius, Alexander led Macedonia “to conquer most of the known world”. Though he only lived to a relatively young age of thirty-three, Alexander made use of his time from his first task as a leader stifling a rebellion to his last conquering the Persians and Indians. Alexander’s conquests created a whole new era of Greek inspired culture known as the Hellenistic Era. From his amazing prowess as a youth, to his conquests as an adult, and to his influence on the world after his death Alexander the Great left his mark on the world.
Rulers throughout history that earn the title of “great” have made numerous strategic conquests to further their land. “Great” rulers are above and beyond normal rulers and often go to extreme measures to better their ruling. One ruler who did just that was Alexander the Great, and his focus on big goals, respect for other cultures, and strategy in battle all aid in proving his greatness.
Alexander the Great was an ancient Macedonian ruler and one of history’s greatest minds who as the King of Macedonia and Persia, established the largest empire the ancient world has ever seen. Alexander the third of Macedon, known as Alexander the Great was born on July 21, 356 BCE in Pella and was the son of King Philip the second of Macedon and Olympias, Philips 4th wife. (Verify information) It is belief that Alexander inherited a lot of his parent’s traits including the natural disposition of both, the cool forethought and practical wisdom of his father, and the ardent enthusiasm and ungovernable passions of his mother. His mother belonged to the royal house Epeirus, and through her he traced his descent from the great hero Achilles. King Philip was a great ruler and had a great reign that stretched from 359 BCE to 336 BCE. Philip managed to turn the peripheral, disunited, economically and military ruined Macedonia into the domination political power of the Mediterranean world and had created an empire that extended from mainland Greece to the Danube.
The most paramount challenge I have had to face in education and every facet of my life has been the divorce of my parents when I was in the 3rd grade. Overcoming the emotional chains of the event has been in an oxymoronic fashion extremely simple, and the hardest thing to do in the world. After about half a year of feeling like Atlas with the earth on my shoulders, a decision had to be made. I choose to continue on with my life, but also improve every aspect of it. My grades skyrocketed, I became extremely social, and overall I was much happier. A simple decision, but one that led me to where I am today. It is terribly unfortunate that too many people in my situation would simply give up, look at proverbial “bare wall” and proclaim, “I can’t
