Whether it is through his church, school, or the community, Lauren has always there to help others. It is a combination of all of these attributes that contribute to Lauren’s leadership skills. Open and willing to listen to others and show a genuine care and concern is a rare find in high school today. Lauren’s participation in mission trips is one example of her desire to actively help others. The trips have given her a broadened outlook on all aspects of life. It is because of these experiences that have pushed Lauren to go beyond the required. Teachers, students and staff in the high school consistently speak of Lauren in the highest and sincere regard. Lauren’s involvement in a myriad of extracurricular activities evidence her commitment to the South Windsor High School student body all four years. There is no doubt in my mind that Lauren is going to continue to touch the lives of others in positive ways throughout her

She is not content with “good enough,” but strives to perform better each time. Her efforts have been met with success in all areas in her life. It is seen in her increasing GPA and her performance in athletics, music and leadership roles in and outside of school. I want to emphasize consistency when writing about Sabrina; she is a benchmark for others when it comes to the consistency she has shown throughout her life. Playing the flute from elementary school to present, softball for 12 years and an active member of her church for 13 years are a few examples of her
We are all faced with challenges throughout life. Our ability to work through these challenges is many times a reflection of the person we are, and with Kayla, it is no different. Her commitment to making the best out of life’s unpredictable circumstances is seen in all areas of her life. During her sophomore year, two of her family members passed away, within weeks of each other. Undoubtedly, the loss impacted her ability to perform to her potential academically. She found it difficult to stay focused, and she felt the need to work harder than the people around her just to keep up. Kayla navigated thorough her feelings and didn’t let the sadness define who she is. She matured a great deal at this time and recognized not only the unpredictability of life but the importance of making

Charity has faced many challenges such as trying to balance all her responsibilities and dealing with criticism from church members. Mrs. Charity works a full-time job, is a mother to nine year old twin girls, leads a high school girl’s Bible study, leads a twelfth grade Sunday school class, and coordinates the youth group’s travel plans. It’s difficult to find a way to give each activity all the attention that it deserves while finding time to do things for herself. Yet, with great organization, time management, and trust in God, Charity manages to complete all her tasks while remaining at peace. Of course, she’ll slip up every now and then and will have to decide what she needs to sacrifice in order to give more attention to another area in her life, but this is inevitable. She’ll make the decision not to partake in an opportunity or to take on an extra responsibility because doing so would cause extra stress, and that would take away from her ability to lead in other areas. Church members have sometimes criticized her for not paying special attention to different students or for being too involved in her class’s lives. However, Mrs. Charity takes these criticisms into consideration and focuses on what the students want and need instead of what outside parties try to suggest. Her goal as a leader is to make students feel involved and comfortable based on what they need, and to point them in the direction of the
In class, Bailey is constantly working hard to do her best on every assignment. Not only does she complete her assignments to the best of her ability, but she often goes above and beyond what is necessary. She makes sure to have her work checked before turning it in and asks many questions during class. This hardworking quality will take her far in the future!
Academically, Allison is a very strong student and I enjoy having her in class. She has been on the Principal/Superintendent’s Honor Roll every year of high school. Allison’s behavior and decision making is characteristic of a student who is mature beyond her years. She has one of the strongest work ethics I’ve ever encountered in a student. A typical Monday for

In dealing with her cohort she was always professional in her dealings with colleagues as well as faculty and other constituents both inside and outside the classroom. David is a student who embraces the idea of making the most of a high school career. He is well rounded with a myriad of interests and abilities. A student who does not sit back or just go through the motions, David makes a point of getting involved. Not afraid of trying something new, David has involved himself with sports, community, employment, and hobbies along with academics. I admire David’s ability to juggle the many facets of his busy life. It is refreshing to see David face everything with a positive attitude and determination, but not forgetting to have fun along the way.
She possesses maturity beyond her age and is a positive role model for others. At the end of her freshman year, Elizabeth knew she wanted to reach a higher level in all areas of her life. In order to reach those goals she showed an impressive level of time management and motivation. I must mention that she has not slowed down and she is continuously assessing and developing goals. This is something that is not typically accomplished, but she is not “typical.” Focused and determined, she never loses sight of her goals. Elizabeth is serious about her academics and strives to gain a strong understanding of the material presented. Her ability to balance academics, volunteer work and extra-curricular activities is admirable.

To begin, Lindsey contributes to the community through various organizations. For the past two years, she has helped with summer recreation, which is a baseball program put on by Community Education. Teaching elementary students baseball for the first time can be challenging, but Lindsey is patient, calm, and kind. When kids are messing around and not listening she refrains from yelling, but instead, she has compassion in her voice. In addition, she is also a part of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes group. Not only does she come to all the gatherings, she is a leader. Being a leader means that Lindsey helps prepare lessons, leads the group in prayer, and organizes fundraisers. Seeing how involved Lindsey is inspires me to share my time and talents with others.
