I sit in the dark church staring at the closed casket. I wasn’t even allowed to see her one last time. Jack sits beside me, his warm hand resting on top of mine in attempt to calm me. Hank, Hannah’s father turns to look at me. His dark eyes look to be black slits. I stare blankly intro space, wanting to run. Jack stands beside me as Hank walks near me me. Usually I’d found him pleasant to be around, but this time it didn’t seem like a kind gesture he was carrying out with. You’re shaking.” Jack asks, he stares at me as though he were trying to calculate what my problem is. I point one shaky finger towards the piece of paper on the table. He crouches down to pull me into his embrace. “Okay first thing you’re going to do is pack up our luggage.” He pulls my small body up with his. I barely manage to nod. “When you’re finished we’ll go to my place and I’ll pack.” While Jack is packing up clothes and toiletries for the both of us; I sit inside the window looking out, wondering what had happened to hannah.
