The mid-season NBA All-Star game has long been considered a favorite spectator event for basketball fans all over the world. It's a wonderful opportunity to see the best basketball players in the world come together to showcase their collective talents in an exhibition setting. For the players, it provides an opportunity to enhance the overall experience of being a professional basketball player.
About the 2017 All-Star Game
This season's All-Star classic weekend is scheduled to run from February 17 through February 19 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. This year's game was originally scheduled to be played in North Carolina, but was moved amid controversy surrounding the state's "bathroom bill." The weekend's supporting

Why Players Are Excited To Play In New Orleans
Before beginning this discussion, it's important to note that beyond the players scheduled to participate, All-Star weekend draws a great number of the current NBA players who simply come in to enjoy the festivities. In fact, that's one of the main reasons NBA players get excited about the All-Star Game. It provides them with the opportunity to get together with their "fraternity brothers" to build camaraderie throughout the league and on an individual basis.
Another key reason NBA players look forward to the All-Star activities has to do with financial concerns. First, players do earn some level of compensation for being selected as all-stars and showing up to play in the actual game. This also applies to the supporting events such as the Slam Dunk Contest since there is also prize money and prestige at stake over all
Everybody has been saying James Harden should get the MVP award because his team is winning and he is getting points and assists. However, although James Harden is a really good player, it still denies that fact that why Russell Westbrook should get the MVP award. Me personally, I think Russell Westbrook should get MVP. Also, there are a number of different reasons why he should be MVP. Firstly he is putting up monster stats.
There has been no better time in history for women to break ground in the ranks of Major League Baseball.
Five Star Basketball Camp is a camp for basketball players that want to improve their skills and techniques on a high level of basketball such as the NBA better known as the National Basketball Association. The camp was found in 1966 and was the first specialized sports camp. Famous NBA players like Michael Jordan, Kevin Durant, Lebron James, Stephan Curry, Dwayne Wade, and many more attend this camp. Over 422 coaches that participated in the Five-Star camp have coached in the NBA or the NCAA. Not only the Five-Star camp is just for boys, it is also for girls that want to play basketball. The Five-Star camp has different location like California, New York, Texas, Florida, and many more locations for players that will put them on the court for
Making the All-star game is an achievement any player should be proud of and what the Chicago Cubs infield has done is nothing short of amazing. There is only one issue I have with all the hype about the upcoming event. It is played in July. Last I remember, the Cubs were swinging for October and losing the World Series wasn’t an option we were going to be satisfied with.
The American League has already had to replace two pitchers on the All-star game roster, and White Sox starter Jose Quintana continues to be snubbed.
The NBA is a billion dollar business and known as one of the largest and most prestigious organization within American sports today. It is also home to one of the most controversial rules in all of sports, which is known as "the one and done rule." The one and done rule restricts high school basketball players from entering the NBA draft out of high school and going to straight to the NBA. According to Article X, Section 1 of the NBA's 2005 collective bargaining agreement (CBA), the policy for player eligibility states:
In no way am I making excuses for these guys. I understand there are some people that may have a once in a lifetime opportunity to see these stars play. So, if the star they decide to go watch that day misses what do they get in return? There should be some sort of agreement between the NBA owners/coaches and Silver for some sort of
The money made off of the players is unthinkable when you get down to it. Everyone gets paid off of how the players play except the players themselves. In an ESPN article arguing both sides of whether to pay or not to pay on writer says “The true madness of March is the millions of dollars -- generated by the kids who touch the ball -- that goes mostly to the advertising hustlers, television suits, arena operators, concession hawkers, athletic gear manufacturers and retailers, university administrators, coaches and sports media noisemakers” (Lipsyte) and its true when you start looking at what
The second reason I think NBA players shouldn't get paid as much is because half of the people on the team
The player’s life is estimated that they spend at least 50 hours a week in the sport, with the other time they have part time jobs, school, and all the other little issues. But a part time job sometimes can’t cover the fact with bills some players pay. Phone bill, car, insurance, rent, food, So a little side pay with the sport they love to do would be nice. Did you know Michael Jordan worked at McDonalds when he was with North Carolina? To that the point is clear.
The NBA has seen many different players come and go throughout its 50 years of existence. In the last 15 years, there has been a boom of underclassmen leaving college early to enter the NBA draft. The last NBA draft in June, the top ten picks alone were underclassmen(Sports Illustrated, 264). Many more underclassmen are entering the NBA this year. The typical college career for the basketball players is playing until your junior year, then going pro. The NBA and the NCAA must do something in order to keep these young players in college.
After transitioning to the shared space, inside Strike Zone Baseball, All Star Uniforms maximized marketing dollars by performing grass root marketing campaigns to reach new customers. Sharing email lists, presenting printed material and special offers to current Strike Zone customers saved thousands of dollars in the overall advertising budget. All Star Uniforms would also work with local game and practice facilities like Johnson County Park and Recreation and 3&3 Baseball to place small advertisements in and around the facility as well as web banners and special offers. While utilizing the relationship with Strike Zone training facility, All Star Uniforms would have a heavy flow of foot traffic which increased exposure to qualified customers
When being an athlete everyone is always looking forward to game day, where the stands are full with a huge crowd and everyone cheering for them. They bring in so much money just in one game. “March Madness is one of the most watched sporting events in the country. Yet the money being made off this event is not trickling down to the players, who are the stars of the tournament” (Patterson 2). This shows that, players who travel to play in a long tournament and take time out of there days are not getting paid.
We all know the NBA All Star game sucks. No one plays defense and none of the players take it seriously. This year's teams nearly had 400 combined points. The game is getting ridiculous. If we really want the All Star game to be exciting, two things need to happen:.
The NBA is one of the United States’ favorite sports leagues, with each team averaging 100 million dollars of income each year before expenses.
