In 1985, two years before Tim Tebow was born, his family moved to the Philippines to become missionaries. His mother, Pam Tebow, experienced complications during her pregnancy and many doctors recommended her to have an abortion but because of the Tebow families strong faith in the Lord they decided to go through with the pregnancy and on August 14th, 1987 she gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Timothy Richard Tebow. When he was three years old his family moved from the Philippines to their hometown of Jacksonville, Florida. Tim Tebow grew up in a family that committed their lives to the Lord which urged him to do the same in his life and throughout his career.

A lot of people have the wrong idea of what a hero is, those people think that heroes are some kind of mythical beings that fight off people who wrong society. There are plenty of amazing heroes who didn’t fight off crime to them that title. For this essay, the hero that I chose to write about is Walter Payton. Walter Payton is one of the greatest running backs in history. He holds numerous NFL records and he is recognized by his nickname “Sweetness”. He is a hero because he inspired kids, dominated the NFL, and because of what he did and how he acted off the playing field.

Michael Vick shouldn’t be allowed back in the NFL because of his crimes including dog fighting. The article I read said “ The people running the NFL don’t care about animals, second chances, or doing the right thing.” This shows that the NFL just wants to give themselves a brighter image. The article also said “During his “60 Minutes” interview, Vick seemed remorseful about having gotten caught, rather than remorse for what he actually did.” This showed that Michael Vick was only sorry that he got caught instead of what he did. The final thing the article said “He doesn’t belong back in the NFL. As an abuser of innocent creatures who just want to be our friends, this man doesn’t deserve to be in a position to make millions of dollars again.”

It has been over a week since the horrific incident at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. The school dubbed “The safest in Florida” fell victim to a brutal mass shooting on its campus.  The shooter arrived on a Wednesday afternoon and pulled out his semiautomatic AR-15 rifle and began his destruction on whatever got in his path. This has caused numerous reactions with the American people. One person who took notice was Miami Dolphins offensive lineman: Jonathan Martin.
