Being women of Alpha Xi Delta is a great honor due to everything this chapter has and is accomplishing here at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Alpha Xi Delta is constantly learning, growing, involving and leading throughout our community. As a chapter we are consistently receiving national recognition, creating a well-rounded sisterhood, and guiding our women to become successful in and outside of school. Our Alpha Xi Delta chapter is known for the outstanding amount of money we are able to raise through our philanthropy, Autism Speaks. Each year we set our goal higher than the year before, for our annual Step It Up 5K walk. With great efforts, we always find a way to accomplish this goal by raising a huge chunk of money. As a chapter,

The chapter “Three Surprises About Change” excerpted from Cheap Heath and Dan Heath’s book Switch: How to Change Things When Change is Hard introduces the three components of change: situational, rational, and emotional. The authors use a Rider-and-Elephant metaphor to illustrate these components.
I am writing this letter to recommend my niece, Mikaela Quest, to the Florida State University chapter of Alpha Delta Pi. As an alumnus of the University of Arizona Delta Gamma chapter in Tucson, Arizona, I feel that Mikaela would be a wonderful member of Alpha Delta Pi. I am fortunate to have Mikaela as my niece, and would consider it a privilege to pass this legacy onto her.

1%- Upon reading chapter 16 I was profoundly shocked to see mention of the 1%. In the news over the last few years this has become a rather recognizable term however I did not realize this went all the way back to the beginnings of our country. I also find it shocking that after all this time we still have found no real resolution for the distribution of wealth in America. While I understand hard work for hard cash I do not understand how even back then these companies could profit so heavily off their employees with no care for their wellbeing or living situation. A company should never be allowed to pay someone less than the current living expense of the area. Also, I cannot help but feel like I am not reading history but instead an article from current times. Millionaires sit on snob hill while their employees struggle to keep on the lights.
Another main idea concept in chapter seven, is speculation. Speculation is the practice of taking full advantage of the market’s fluctuations, anticipating large returns. Essentially, speculation is like betting on the market. A real life example could be buying stocks. If someone speculating bought a stock, he or she would have purchased the stock because he or she expects the stock to grow. I think that speculation is a very risky method because the market varies very often; the risk outweighs the reward. (157-158)

When reading Chapter 14 on page 264, the authors indulged in a discussion on marital adjustments. Marriage is influenced by many factors that take effective of marital adjustments. As stated in the text, there are influences at three different levels. Individuals, family, and social. One of the most important factors influencing martial adjustments over the cycle of life is, addition. At the individual level, the developmental trajectory of both spouses; their level of self-management, emotional, financial, educational and interpersonal competence, the values and beliefs they have about marriage, about the acceptable role of men and women, and the equity in relationships. The family level, marital adjustments are influenced by the relationships
Gamma Xi has also reached two of the goals we set in January as a chapter. One goal, was to raise our GPA to a 3.25 by the end of the 2016-2017 school year. Gamma Xi’s chapter GPA is now a 3.26! Our other goal was that we wanted to be the sorority who volunteered the most in our community. We were are very happy to find out that, on average, each woman in the Gamma Xi volunteered 9 hours. This gave us a total of 1492 hours spent giving back to the community with organizations like Friendship Manor, Relay-For-Life, Adopt-A-Block, UCSB First, the Alzheimer’s Association, Cottage Children’s Hospital, and many more.
Following the procedures of USP chapter are extremely important because they prevent harm to the patient. The preparations and requirements are to maintain a sterile environment and prevent contamination and mistakes during preparations. The reason for USP 797 is to prevent incorrect use of ingredients and errors in ingredient strengths and to also keep a clean environment. “The chapter was developed for use in healthcare institutions, pharmacies, and physician practice facilities. It also applies to other facilities in which compounded sterile preparations (CSPs) are prepared, stored and dispensed, such as pharmacy intravenous rooms, chemotherapy clinics, hospital nursing stations and in operating rooms by anesthesiologists.” There are three
In chapter 2 we learn about the experiment on Clever Hans and numerous of issues that are the basics to scientific research. Also in this chapter, we discover all the data collection methods that scientist uses to determine the outcome of their subject’s current state. There are numerous amounts of bias effects as well but caused by extraordinary factors that wouldn’t want to be expected.
The seventeenth chapter is the final chapter and the topic is delightfully simple, happiness. A person can know how to do everything I have written in this book and more, but without happiness, there isn’t much point to anything. This chapter is meant to wrap up the book and bring the reader back to what is really important and help them get through when they are upset. The chapter will cover everything from what to do to keep yourself happy, easily accessible hotlines and websites for when anyone needs them, how to get through bad times, and handle being alone but not lonely. Happiness is something not found, but created.
From the first encounter with the quill pin, I began to show my awe and appreciation towards Alpha Xi Delta. As I was no longer a lost freshman wondering the halls to search for my classes, but rather a found member of sisterhood that was placed into this particular sorority
