ANUEL’S Fact FILE ON THE Chapter.1. Where is the Amazon River?
The Amazon River is located in South America. It runs through Guyana, Ecuador, Venezuela, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia and Peru. During the wet season, the Amazon River can reach over 190 kilometres (120 miles) in width because of the rain from the skies that add to the river.
There are no bridges that cross the Amazon, mostly because there is no need, the majority of the Amazon River runs through rainforests.
The largest city along the Amazon River is Manaus. Located in Brazil it is home to over 1.7 million people.

When the flood plains and the Amazon River Basin flood during the rainy season the Amazon River can be up to 40km/24.8 miles wide. Where the Amazon opens the river is over 325km/202 mi wide.
Approximately 40% landmass, including all the torrential tropical rains that deluge the rainforests, carries an enormous amount of water. The mouth of the Amazon River, where it meets the sea, is so wide and deep.
Chapter .5.River Facts
The Amazon river carries the most amount of water in the world. It also has more than two-hundred tributaries and has the largest watershed.
The streams that begin in the mountains such as the Andes Mountains are the starting source for the Amazon River. The Amazon River meets the Atlantic Ocean and the colour of the Atlantic Ocean are modified for about 320km.
As a fact the Amazon River can be as much as six miles wide, and during flood seasons, the Amazon is more than thirty-two kilometres in certain places. The Amazon River even flowed west at one time or more, into the Pacific Ocean, and has taken different routes since it began to carry water.
The
The Power of the Nile The Nile, one of the most famous rivers in the world. It could give life to a civilization, or destroy it. Part of the Nile is in Egypt, approximately 660-700 miles of it (Doc. A). Two sources of the Nile are lakes Tona and Victoria.
When the Mississippi is compared to other world rivers, it ranks fourth in length (3,710 miles/5,970 km) following right behind the Yangtze Rivers (3,964 miles/6,378 km), the Amazon River (4,000 miles/6,436 km), and the Nile River (4,160 miles/6,436 km). As deposition or erosion occurs at a rivers delta, or as meanders are created or cut off, determine the reported length of a river. These things can either increase
We’ll start with the Nile River. The Nile is 4,000 miles long! The Nile is bigger than the Tigris and Euphrates. The Nile also makes two huge bends that make an S shape that is 1,000 miles long. The Nile also floods,Just like ours. Our rivers are alike because when the Nile floods they use it for farming.
The Andes Mountains come from Argentina all the way to Colombia. After reaching Colombia, the Andes Mountain is divided in three paths. In the article "Colombia", Oxford References express that the south of Colombia is rich in soil until reaching Amazonas, the largest rainforest in South-America, which is also shared with Brazil. These soil provide the enough food for consumption and to export. On the north side of the Andes Mountains, Colombia has several rivers that lead out to the coast side including the Atlantic Ocean to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the Northwest.
The Amazon has a humid climate. There’s a lot precipitation and an average temperature of 77 degrees Fahrenheit. The rainforest is found in South America. The Amazon River is surrounded by tropical rainforest. Three layers can be found in the forest. The forest floor is the bottom layer, it has an under story where all the trunks of the trees are located, and a canopy. This is where the tops of the trees are located.
Most of the northern part of Brazil is low-lying and veined by the mighty Amazon River and its tributaries. The Amazon is the largest river in the world. The native peoples of Brazil lived in the forests and along the rivers, hunting, fishing, and gathering fruits and nuts. When the Portuguese arrived early in the 16th century, it is estimated that there were between 1 and 2 million
B: The Amazon River is another national landmark for Brazil. It is the second largest river in the world. It is habitat to rare mammals such as the boto, also known as the Amazon River Dolphin. The Characin, similar to piranhas. And in some shallow parts of the Amazon the Anaconda, one of the world's largest species of snakes.
In Greek mythology, it is not very clear on where the Amazons actually resided. Some myths say that the Amazon nation is near the river Thermodon, between the river Halys and city Trabson, near a cliff, or on an island called Themiscyra
"The river rises of itself, waters the fields, and then sinks back again; thereupon each man sows his field and waits for the harvest" (Parsons, 1996-2010), these are the words of Herodotus the great Greek philosopher. "The Nile Valley is a canyon running 660 miles long with a floodplain occupying 4,250 square miles" (Parsons, 1996-2010), being a rich source of water the Nile River is the largest river in the world. This majestic river delivers and provides a constant water supply to the people of Egypt giving them an abundance of natural resource available where they lived along
The book Gifts of the Nile Valley tells the history of, not only one of Africa's greatest and most important natural monuments, The Nile River, but also uses that history to link the earliest traces of mankind to Africa. The begging of the book explains the importance of the Nile River both for mankind and for the environment around it. The beginning chapters also explain how the Nile River actually works, which I personally found very interesting. According to the book the Nile River is the longest River in the world , stretching as long as 4,132 miles. It also functions much differently than normal rivers. Unlike other rivers, The Nile River flows south to north. Also, while normal rivers need to be fed rain and connected to other bodies of water, The Nile River runs through mostly desert and does not get any rain. The Nile is also not connected to any other body of water. As bizarre as that is, its not the most impressive thing that this legendary river can do. Throughout its entire length, The Nile river has somehow managed to fertilize the soil around it for up to ten miles. It's believed that through this river, Civilizations from thousands of years ago managed to sustain themselves.
The river is mainly located in Brazil but goes through several other surrounding countries, and eventually empties into the Atlantic ocean. According to the density map not many people live near this physical feature, only about 2.5-24 people per square mile, in some places 250-1,249. A decent amount of people live here because it is near water which has a plentiful amount of resources, as aforementioned. It also is a big place for wildlife studies and tourism, but this water is unsafe and has many dangerous creatures inhabiting it. These circumstances are more beneficial for some people and disadvantages for other, which means not as many people live near there as other rivers, but still a good amount. Another example is the Amazon Rainforest, also known as the Lungs of the Earth. It is mostly in Brazil but is in a few nearby countries as well. The Rainforest is located on the Amazon Basin and winds around the Amazon River. The physical feature covers 1.7 billion acres, produces over 20% of the worlds oxygen and is one of the most biodiverse places on Earth. According to the population density map not many people live near the Amazon Rainforest, only about less than 2.5-24 people per square
If we look at the above climate table of the amazon basin we can find that the temperature is almost constant throughout the year. But we can kind of divide rainfall in Amazon into rainy and “not so rainy”. If we have a look at the above table between the months June to September we can call it “not so rainy” and the rest of the months we can call it rainy. This is between October to May.
Brazil is located in South America. It comprises half the area of South America and has a total surface area of 3,287,612 square miles. Brazil borders with all other South American countries except Chile and Ecuador. Brazil is as large as the United States but with an extra Texas thrown in it. Brazil has no great lakes, but it does have the Amazon, which is the largest river in the world in the volume of water and are drained (Hunnicutt, 1949).
Peru is located in western South America and it shares borders with Chile, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia and Ecuador and the South Pacific Ocean. Peru is about 1.28 million square kilometers. There are three major regions in Peru: a narrow coastal belt, the wide Andean mountains and the Amazon Basin. The coast is mostly a desert, but contains Peru's major cities. The Andes has two main ranges - Cordillera Occidental and Oriental. Oriental includes Peru's highest mountain called Huascaran, it a peaks out at 22,200ft. On the east side is the Amazon Basin, a region of tropical lowland, the water there is carried out by the Maranon and Ucayali rivers.
Brazil borders every nation except Chile and Ecuador. Brazil is divided into Brazilian Highlands, or plateau, in the South American River Basin in the North. Brazil has rainforests, rivers, grasslands, and beaches. Brazil has more people and land than any other place in South America. Over a third of Brazil is covered by the Amazon and it’s over 200 tributaries. There are many rivers in Brazil. One major river is the Amazon River and it’s actually the second largest river in the world. The Amazon River is anywhere between 6,259 km / 3,903 mi and 6,712 km/ 4,195 mi long. The Amazon River supplies 20 percent of all the water that the world’s rivers pour into the ocean. Brazil also has rainforests. The largest rainforest is located in Brazil itself and that is the Amazon Rainforest. It has more than 1.2 billion acres in size. In matter of fact the rainforest is located
