Views of America
English is the common language in America, yet there are many people with different ethnic backgrounds who speak different languages and call the U.S. home. I can write a considerable list stating what the pros and cons of America are, but in simple terms, it’s complex and we’re not No. 1. Determining what makes America prominent depends on whom you’re asking. In my opinion, the United States isn’t the greatest country in the world anymore and that’s okay. Like every great nation, such as the Roman Empire, we have our peak and fall. The same applies in business, products, and technology. Imagine still having a AOL account. Jeez. Don’t misunderstand my views either, I’m patriotic and believe there’s benefits and infinite opportunities in America to this day. However, acknowledging America is no longer the greatest country in the world is the first step towards reconstructing the U.S. Since America’s education, healthcare, and overall life expectancy is ranked lower than other countries, I believe America needs to be pragmatic in recognizing the flaws essential for change successfully. Historically, America was founded on curiosity, freedom and opportunity. Essentially attracting numerous immigrants to abandon their native country for a piece of the “American Dream”. How is it that many American’s still can’t fully grasp or see the benefits offered in the U.S. Poor decisions? Laziness? Busy? Excuses? The System? Maybe a bit of everything and as a results,
Today America is one of the wealthiest, strongest, and hardworking countries in the world. It has population of over three hundred million and growth rate of 0.97% annually. America as a nation is known to have done many great contributions to the world such as: the idea of presidency, inventing telephone, discovering electricity, inventing planes, the first nation to put a man on moon, and many more. America has grown and multiplied over time and it is still increasing. Even though today America stands out apart from other countries, it was built from nothing but scrap.
1. America is now a land of freedom and opportunity for the poor. Americans are portrayed as ambitious, hardworking people to make a better nation by being loyal and opening to new ideas.
America is a gorgeous country, from her tall rocky mountains to her marvelous oceans. America has fought through the worst of battles, but she always comes out triumphant. America is a place where many individuals call home. She is a symbol of hope, acceptance, and new life. For years, people have been coming to her borders, looking for safety. America is an example to the world, of what a country should be to her people. America holds history, shows the present, and predicts the future. America is always moving forward; she is never content to stand still. However, America could not make all these changes by herself; it is her people that call themselves Americans that make her so great. American is an extremely generalized word. What makes
The United States is not the greatest country in the world. However, for a very long time, people have believed that the United States tops the list. This is because of the classic lifestyle and technological advancements portrayed in our daily media. The United States is portrayed as a country of peace and optimum harmony. Consequently, we get the impression that United States is the best place to be. The younger generation seems to enjoy life to the fullest with almost no regrets. After all, most of us can drive a car at the age of 16; compare that to other countries at 18. We have access to pretty much whatever we need. Most adults are not constantly monitoring and hovering over their children. They have jobs and financial prosperity is
Americans have been breaded to believe America is the greatest country in the world. America is a place of the freedom and possibilities, an outside looking in a very desirable place to live. However, America is not as great as Americans believe. Sure Americans have a wider range of freedom then most countries, but has plenty of issues that will repulse others from coming to the land of the free. Issues such as women’s rights, racism, and discrimination plague U.S. citizens nearly each day and that should change now.
For many around the world, the United States have become known as the country of opportunity and success. Consequently,
America has many ideas, people, and values that it can attribute its greatness to. Every single person that has ever been born in this great country has impacted the United States in countless ways. Anyone who is fortunate enough to live the life that Americans get to live, are given the chance to create, change, or continue the legacy of America.
Many people take advantage of living in the USA, but most all of the time it is those who are born and raised here. The people fleeing their own countries, just to come to America, seem to be the ones who truly appreciate all there is to offer. To learn about America’s history seems as a daunting task to many school aged children. Class gets boring and therefore you stop listening and you never truly understand the meaning behind America and how it came to be. Whereas those hoping to come to America and live the “American Dream” are truly interested in how America came to be. These people come to America to fulfill their dreams of having a better life for themselves and more importantly, their family. America is the savior for many wanting to flee their home country and the bad situation they are in.
Why people are not achieving the american dream is because.America thinks that we are amazing people at what we do we think we are “natural born mechanics and know enough about a car and how to work on a car.Americans think that they are to good to have jobs because we think we are the smartest people in the world and we are not the smartest people in the world. Some americans are smart and others don't have a clue about anything.”We believe implicitly that we are the heirs of the pioneers:that we have inherited self-sufficiency and the ability to take care of ourselves, particularly in a relation to nature’’.
There is way more things wrong with America, than right. We often notice the things that are wrong more than the things that are right. But believe it or not, we actually do some things right in the United States of America. Although we are critiqued as the nation that is dominant and makes good things seem bad. We do have good programs and people in this nation. We have an outstanding school system for the grades kindergarten all the way to the twelfth grade. As well as amazing Universities that draw in nationalities worldwide. Not to forget, we are one of the proudest countries in the world filled with some of the most patriotic people you’ve ever seen. The United States of America is usually looked down upon for its political and racist radicals. But truly, we are one of the most advanced and intelligent countries in the current era.
To many people across the globe, the United States of America appears to be a place where one can be proud of. America the land where dreams come true and there is always a chance for any person to succeed. People who are not from the United States have been painted a beautiful picture of what life in our country is like. Not only do they think that there is a special place in America for them and the perfect career for each individual, but unfortunately this is not always true. The American dream is not necessarily to get rich quick, it is more along the lines of a hard worker having an opportunity to be financially stable and to live a pleasant life. The dream is that their sons and daughters will not have to suffer the same things that
How well do people, american citizens or soon to be citizens, understand or realize the American dream? Some suggest it is freedom. Is that all it is? Has America lived up to its standards? The land of opportunities, is what America has been called, and while this is true in some ways, there are downsides to this country that you may not know about.
The debate of instituting English as the official language in the United States is a debate that has been going on for centuries. Many people believe that English should be the official language because we are American, and Americans speak English. However, many of those people fail to realize that we all come from different heritages and corners of the world. Language should be an art of expression, one where people of all heritages and backgrounds can speak in the language that they have learned. Implementing English as the official language in the United States would be to essentially ignore and disrespect all of the heritages, nationalities, and religions that make the United States a unique place to live. The United States is
America has been labeled "The land of opportunity," a place where it is possible to accomplish anything and everything. This state of mind is known as "The American Dream." The American Dream provides a sense of hope and faith that looks forward to the fulfillment of human wishes and desires. This dream, however, originates from a desire for spiritual and material improvement. Unfortunately, the acquisition of material has been tied together with happiness in America. Although "The American Dream" can be thought of as a positive motivation, it often causes people to strive for material perfection, rather than a spiritual one. This has
Many Americans show patriotism and deem American as the greatest country, but are the facts in America’s favor? American has always been known worldwide as a superpower, however is American that glorious in every category? We are known for our many achievements throughout history, but through the 241 years we have been a country not once were we praised for our education system. America has struggled in the past because many students dropped out to work and help provide for their family, and the lack of urgency to learn. However, our education is still a major problem, and today we have no excuse. American students struggle and are average or below average in many tests compared to other countries. The education system in America is doing more harm than good and is putting America and our posterity at risk.
