America is generally a country of immigrants. America is the land of the free, and full of opportunity for every American and others who came from different countries. In Florida, the first arrivals were European, beginning with Spanish explorer ponce de Leon who explored the land in 1513, following French and Spanish settlement during the 16th century. Many Asian Indians struggle as Indian immigrant in America. India is an area with second largest population in the world with 1.2 billion people. Indians arrived in the 19th century in America. The congressional act of 1947 granted them citizenship. There are many Indians who hold many important occupations such as; students, teachers, writers, musicians, scientists, doctors, professors, welders, and so on. Everything was fine in India until the end of 19th century, when British arrived. Many people became poor, and they had no choice but to come to the United States (the land of the free and the land of opportunity). The United States remained strong to immigrants. Many Asians and Italians came for work, Russians came to escape persecution, and Jews came for religious freedom. In this paper, I am going to talk about Indians. What are the goals of Indians here in United States? Why is it that Indians in America are among the most successful people there while India still lags behind in nearly all developmental Indies?
