America Is Not The Best Country Essay

America can either flourish or fade in the new global economy. It all depends on what we do

Many countries have fast food and obesity problems, but America takes it to a whole other level. People don’t cook as much anymore and don’t eat healthily. They also don’t exercise. It’s pictures like this that have everyone wondering WTF and perpetuate stereotypes as to why so many Americans are obese.

Let’s get something straight: America was never “great.” From views on African Americans, immigrants, religions, homosexuals, and even women, America may have overcome how harsh they treat different people, but they are still facing controversies over said topics. When President elect, Donald Trump says “make America great again,” it’s hard to understand what he means because, again, America was never actually “great.” As a character in the Netflix Original Series: Orange is the New Black said, this is the “land of the free, home of the racist.” America may have more freedoms than most countries, but Americans then and now blame minorities for our problems, when in reality, they should look in a mirror.

Simply put no, America is not the greatest country on earth; even though most American’s choose to believe it is. While I know that almost all Americans share a very strong sense of pride and nationalism; not to mention a devout love for their country, it’s just that they might not think about it 24-7. I disagree greatly with the very often wrong and misstated statistics that suggest that America is just another sad declining country; the statistics people quote are just fake and insensitive to our nation. With that said we are, as a nation, falling behind on some categories like education and healthcare. The United States is almost last in childhood obesity in 2-4 year olds; also the U.S.

Do you know what nation still says they are the best? Or how about what country has fallen off of the leaderboards drastically in multiple categories of debate? America has been through some tough times and we still are, however, there is no other place I would rather live than the good ol’ U S of A. But, statistics beg to differ. We might never take what is handed to us or we even might go out and we get what needs to be done, done, but that’s just the can do attitude that got us here in the first place, being at the bottom of the list is what I am talking about. Our freedom was fought for it wasn 't given to us, this might be true, this might not, but as of now we are ranked 12th in the world based on freedom, to me 12th place isn’t 1st place. After we earned our freedom we struggled to build ourselves up from nothing, and all that nothing turned into something. We are known as one of the biggest economic forces in the history of the world and we like it that way. No other country can compete with us in any situation possible, because America is just that great.

In one time, William McKinley manifested “Expositions are the timekeepers of progress,” inspiring America that the workflow will be presented graciously. Reaching to the years of massive expansions, America had grown tremendously with goods and services. During the late 1890s, President McKinley urged Americans to transformed America into the greatest powerful nation in the whole world. In preparing for a strong nation, the Spanish-American War had enclosed their attainments due to tensions between Spain and United States. American had its victories and forwarded the Treaty of Paris which had control over several foreign countries. After the war, United States focused on up warding their nation. “Why do people think we are so star-spangled-awesome? The rest of the world has freedom.” (Newsroom). America is not the greatest country in the world because of the social, economic, and political injustices that are occurring. Additionally, change happens slowly, while people suffer.

In order for something to be exceptional, it must be different than the rest of a group, and this is how America can be viewed as – different from the rest of the world. America is exceptional because it has the freedom of religion, an excellent educational system, and various aspects of individualism. One reason as to why America is exceptional is that it enables its citizens to have the freedom of religion. America is one of few countries that has sectarianism, or the devotion to a certain sect of a religion (Lipset). Sectarianism gives American citizens the freedom and choice of developing a relationship with their god.

America is a wonderful place to live, because we are free. Freedom is important, and many people in other countries do not have much freedom. I am glad I have a place like this to grow up in; where I know that I can be equal with other races and other genders. Also, I am glad I have a place like this that will respect me and I know it will be a great place to have my children grow up in.

America is a place where people can be free and not worry about a lot of things. But, America can be improved in many ways so that not much of us can be arguing so much. There are many things that can change for America to be better than it is right now. Some things that can change is homeless veterans or the homeless in general. The way I view America is that, it is an amazing place to be, but it can also be viewed as not being the best place to be at.

America is one of the most advanced and developing countries in the world! From being one of the world leaders in technology innovations and the U.S. economy being the largest and most productive in the world, America seems to be leading a busy life. But from living in an active life and working hard to stay on top, do Americans have it easy? To answer that question, I believe Americans do have it easy. From what I read in the articles, Americans enjoy the highest standard of living in the world.

Another reason why America is not the greatest nation in the world is because of its poverty level. In the United States, 1 out of 6 people are in poverty, and the breach between the rich and the poor is expanding vigorously (Poverty Program, USA Poverty). That is about 45 million

     Many of Americans today do not take the time to realize that our nation is little by little falling apart. Our leaders are corrupt, our environment is being destroyed, and there are thousands of children being born each day. The three major social problems facing the American citizens in the 21st century are births to unmarried woman, being able to trust or government and or leaders, and lastly destroying the environment.

It’s April of 1865. The Civil War just ended, the country is divided, and the President of the United States is no longer alive. America is in a hell-hole. Because of this tragedy, the parties separate and begin making plans for reconstruction. All plans differ in several different aspects; but in order to unionize the country again, compromises must be made. When working with several people towards a common goal, there are always going to be differing viewpoints. Everyone has their own opinion, making it impossible for everyone to agree and get their way. When I lived in Siloam Springs, I was involved in HOSA, which stands for Health Occupations Students of America. Through this organization, we worked a blood drive and a Heart Walk which was associated with the American Heart Association, or the AHA. Both service activities took hours of planning and organization, which included a lot of compromises to reach our goal. Each and every person involved had a different idea of how things should flow; how things should work. It was difficult working with everyone because there were simply so many good ideas, but it was impossible to incorporate each one of them. We had to make compromises. In order for our blood drive and Heart Walk to be successful, we had to listen to each others opinions open-minded, make compromises that were efficient and needed, and work together to put the plan into action.

Although many people believe that Canadians get easily offended and that they waste their money on useless things like big rubber ducks, I could give many reasons why I believe Canada is the best country in the world. Canadians are some of the nicest people ever, and a lot of us are super successful. Canadians invented some of the world’s most popular sports like basketball and ice hockey. Canadians also invented some of the world’s most important products like the walkie-talkie invented for war, as well as medical insulin. But there are many reasons why the country itself is amazing, and some of them include, Canada lets many refugees live here, it is one of the world’s safest countries and, Canada provides free healthcare.
