Scott Fitzgerald shows how the American Dream is only the concept of perfection, something that can never be acquired, but always can be reached for.

What is the American dream, why did many seek it? The American Dream is the idea held by many in the United States that through hard work, courage and determination one can achieve prosperity. Many sought the American dream as a form to start over, live the life they would of preferred, what they didn’t realize was the decline.
