One Republic is an American pop rock band founded in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2002. The band has five people, consisting of lead vocalist Ryan Tedder, guitarist Zach Filkins, guitarist Drew Brown, bassist and cellist Brent Kutzle, and drummer Eddie Fisher. One Republic moved to Los Angeles in 2002 and became famous in 2007 when they debuted their song “Apologize”. In the years before 2007, the band spent its time doing small things and garnering little attention. One Republic went on an expansive tour from 2013-2015. In 2003 One Republic signed on with Sony BMG Combia’s label; three years later, after returning to LA from Coachella, they found themselves abandoned by Colombia’s label. One Republic’s song Apologize would end up making the
Music has been used for centuries to inspire and influence others. No matter what genre, there is always an important message to take from a song. In the song “Angry Anymore”, composed by Ani DiFranco stylistic devices of imagery, repetition, and symbolism are used to convey difficult situations happen in life, but understanding and forgiveness are necessary for moving on. The song begins with the phrase, “Growing up it was just me and my mom against the world and all my sympathies were with her.”(1-2). This quote represents the difficult situation DiFranco faced as a young child. Growing up without a father, she relied on her mother for support and guidance. The two had an unbreakable bond due to their circumstances. As a result, she sympathises
Green Day felt the “weight of the darkness that covered the country during Bush’s first term…They found a voice in an era that was disorienting for many” (D 'Ambrosio, “Green Day Never Gives Up”). Although the album did not stop Bush’s re-election, it “was both a harbinger and beneficiary of the Bush administration’s plummeting approval, selling steadily through 2005” (Pareles, Jon. “The Morning After ‘American Idiot.’”). American Idiot sold 267000 copies in the US and was number 1 on multiple chains, like Billboard’s top 100. It received the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album in 2005, Favorite Pop/Rock Album in 2005 at the American Music Awards, Best International Album in 2006 at the BRIT Awards, and won and was nominated for multiple other awards. The awards, critical acclaim, and general popularity amongst the public “shows that a quality record that contains a well-thought-out message can still appeal to a broad market” (Newman, “A Smart Start For Green Day”).

I apologize for not remembering that I spoke to you during rush, it was extremely rude of me to be so forgetful and I am very sorry to have wasted your time. I am really appreciative of this opportunity that you have given to prove myself to you and I hope that my responses are up to your standards and prove just how sorry I am to have disrespected you.
The article , “Don’t get angry about a bunch of white girls singing n***as, blame Kanye and the rap industry for putting it in their songs in the first place” by PIER MORGAN FOR MAILONLINE is about a video of a group of white sorority girls from the University of Hampshire . In this video the girls are singing a song called ‘Gold Digger’ by Kanye West. The song contains the word “ni***a” which caused contreversy for the media. The girls decided to post the video on Snapchat then , the video ended up going viral. This little situation turned into a huge debate about if white people have the right to use the word ni**a. Even if the word is used in popular song.

Known to produce insanely catchy tracks, Icona Pop drops another earworm with the title “First Time” while on tour with One Direction.
Growing up in a traditional Chinese family, I used to say “I am sorry” a lot. Sometimes I meant to apologize, but most likely I wanted to avoid conflicts, even if I did nothing wrong. I never thought about refusing to say the three words, until going to Wisconsin as an exchange student for a month.
The bands Otherwise, Adelita’s Way and Three Days Grace performed all in one concert. I had expected a lot of chaos from mosh pits and rude people because it was a rock concert, but I was greatly mistaken. This was one of the most well put together concerts I had ever been too. The concert was advertised as “Rock for Heroes Benefit Concert,” and took place September 9 at seven pm. It was held in Charlotte, North Carolina at the Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre. It was sponsored by “The Independence Fund,” which raises money to take care of wounded veterans. All of the proceeds went to the fund, which was an amazing opportunity to raise money for the people who served our country. I purchased lawn tickets because that was the wisest
At the beginning of The Apology, Socrates is directly speaking to the jury in Athens. In the beginning of the apology Socrates speaks of accusations that have been made against him throughout his life. There seems to be two different kinds of accusations. The first being biases accusations that have been made on throughout his past and the other being recent accusations. Socrates explains he was accused of being, “ a wise man, a student of all things in the sky and below the earth, who makes the worse argument the stronger.” He is also accused of persuading the individuals from the time he was a young child. He sincerely believes he should not be at the trail, and that all these accusations are merely false. Socrates is also accused of being a Sophist similar to Prodicus of Ceos and Hippias of Elis. Due to rumors and prejudices, it seems that the jury has already decided the fate of Socrates, which is ultimately death. As I read through the first part of his speech, I felt a sense of hopelessness as if a room was filling with water with no way out. It is never enjoyable to be accused of something that I may not have done, especially if the consequence is death.
Within the pages of Ayn Rand’s novel, Anthem, a government which resembles a dictatorship is exhibited. Both the leaders and the society itself seek to control mans body and mind as they follow ideals similar to that of a communist party. The leaders and society in Anthem seek to control mans mind using tactics such as collectivism and suppression of the past to accomplish a tyrannical end.
As I talked to Rihanna about her reason’s for being in the credit recovery program, her personal history and her hobbies, I felt a deep sense of empathy and compassion for Rihanna. Her experience of having to live in foster care at a young age and with family members that were not her parents made me feel sad and angry for her. I was overwhelmed with feelings as she shared all the responsibility she had towards taking care of her mother and sister and I felt an instant need to empower her as she talked about her loss of identity. My reaction towards this client is part of the unconscious countertransference that were taking place, as I felt pity for this student in our session (Comas-Dias and Jacobson, 1991, pg. 397). I noticed that Rihanna
In Plato’s The Republic and The Apology, the topic of justice is examined from multiple angles in an attempt to discover what justice is, as well as why living a just life is desirable. Plato, writing through Socrates, identifies in The Republic what he thought justice was through the creation of an ideal city and an ideal soul. Both the ideal city and the ideal soul have three components which, when all are acting harmoniously, create what Socrates considers to be justice. Before he outlines this city and soul, he listens to the arguments of three men who hold popular ideas of the period. These men act to legitimize Socrates’ arguments because he finds logical errors in all of their opinions. In The Apology, a different, more down-to-Earth, Socrates is presented who, through his self-defense in court, reveals a different, even contradictory, view of the justice presented in The Republic. In this paper, the full argument of justice from The Republic will be examined, as well as the possible inconsistencies between The Republic and The Apology.
Believe it or not some rock stars have suffered abuse when they were a child. Some went through sexual, physical, or emotional abuse(Nick Clark, 2012). Putting a strain on them for the rest of their lives. From personal experience they can tell you music is a way out in the thing we call life. Most people find peace in music. But those who have been through or still are abused, music is a salvation mixed with eternal peace with happiness sprinkled on top. That sounds really crazy when you put it like that, but if you ever been through abuse you can emphasise with them more than anyone else can.
Once upon a time, R&B lovers far and wide belted an anthem that spoke to them most:
