Religion is a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs; a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons and sects. This then creates a problem because, according to the 2001 survey based data, which was provided by Muslim organizations and mosques there was an estimate of two million Muslims in the United States at this time. Plus, the number of Muslims in America would more than likely be increased by the 2005 year. Also according to the Survey of Heritage and Religious Identification organization an estimate of six million Jews inhabited in the United States in the years of 2001 to 2002, and much like the Muslim society, the population of Jewish Americans increased by the year 2005. Being that the Muslim population increased it should be an equivalent amount, or just as many Muslims as Jews in the United States. Thus, in 2005 when the Bible Literacy Project took their survey of the high school students, the statistics provided that students were more informed on the Islamic holy month; but then confused an Islamic term with the Jewish religion, when there are just as many Muslim Americans as Jewish Americans. This means that over half of the students surveyed were at least familiar with the Islamic religion when there are now just as many Muslims in America as Jews. The issue that lies is Americans are not aware of how crucial it is to know who is who. They are then also not aware of how important it is to know the beliefs, practices, purposes, and intentions of each religion because they surround you on
