Lately, there has been an ongoing debate about controlling guns and many people are trying to discontinue giving citizens the right to own or possess firearm weapons. There are many people who think that nobody should be allowed to possess a firearm where as there are many other people that believe they deserve the right to own a firearm for many reasons. Because of the large differential between beliefs on this topic there is a large debate within the US Government whether or not to allow citizens to continue using guns and keep them. Within the laws of the Government, Americans have the right to bear arms; the right to own guns. The second amendment states: A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. The right to bear arms has been given to Americans and never changed since 1791, and now there are people trying to change it. If US citizens have been able to keep this right for over 200 years, why should it be changed now? There are a few corrupt people in the United States who should not be permitted to own a gun, but this does not mean that the right to have a gun
