The main character of Dorothy Must Die is named Amy Gumm. Amy Gumm is the protagonist of this story while Dorothy Gale is the antagonist. Amy Gumm changes in the story from being sarcastic, scared at what was going on and not having very many friends, to being tough, brave and still very sarcastic. Amy does the right thing when the wizard of Oz tells her to kill the Tin Woodman by removing his heart. Although Amy knows it's not the good thing to do, she knows that it's the right thing to do. Amy also does the right thing when she sees a wingless monkey tied to a post with a sign that stated For The Crime Of Sass. Amy was very surprised that the beloved Dorothy would punish a monkey for sass. Amy freed him from the post even though she knew she would be punished. I can identify with Amy when she shows how kind she is with the monkey. She freed him and continued to stick by his side through the first few chapters of the book, even though a munchkin named Indigo, who was helping Amy, told her not too. One character who was a big part of Dorothy Must Die was Mombi. She is the leader of the Revolutionary Order

Even as an adult they will still be looked at, judged and categorized by people every single day. In the book Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire, Elphaba the main character is born green. From the moment she is born all the characters in the book judge her right away as evil and as the book goes on she tries to always do what’s right. But in the end she turns into what everybody thinks she is and embraces her evil.
Rebellion - Edna definitely begins to rebel from her husband, her responsibilities, and set social norms for other women during her time.
In The Wizard of Oz, the ordinary world and the beginning of the adventure are presented with stunning visual effects. Dorothy, the protagonist, is shown struggling in her ordinary world. She is confronted by the mean neighbor Miss Gulch who wants to take away Dorothy’s dog Toto and give him to the animal control authorities because of Toto’s bad behavior. Dorothy reacts childishly with a temper tantrum, begging her Uncle Henry and Aunt Em not to let Miss Gulch have her way. She confronts Miss Gulch when she tries to take Toto, saying, “You wicked old witch! Uncle Henry, Auntie Em, don't let 'em take Toto! Don't let her take him -- please!” (The Wizard of Oz). In a fit of temper, Dorothy decides to run away because she thinks that it is the only way she can protect her dog from Miss Gulch. The plot picks up the story of Dorothy’s life at a rather bleak point. Dorothy is portrayed as powerless and directionless and she does not appreciate the gifts she has in her family and life. Her character flaws and areas of growth are clear from such behavior. She seeks to be the leader of her own life but she lets temper get in the way of her enacting effective change. Furthermore, in her decision to run away Dorothy shows that she does not appreciate those who love her or the blessings of her loving home.
Amy’s Changes throughout In The After Amy had many different changes that occur from the conflicts in the book. The conflicts that she was faced with, changed her. Some of these changes helped Amy and other people also. There were drastic changes in her appearance and personality. Some changes weren't accepted in New Hope.
Miss Gulch’s last name is most manifestly defined as an abyss that is occupied by a torrent or an extreme threat. Miss Gulch, who plays the Wicked Witch of the West in Dorothy’s dream, provides several threats and is a barricade in the quest to meet the Wizard of Oz himself. The Wicked Witch made various attempts to trap Dorothy on her journey to greet the Wizard. In the duration of the inception of the movie, the Witch discovers that her sister was crushed by Dorothy’s house, and vowed to avenge her sister and recoup the ruby slippers. This metaphor can be interpreted as Miss Gulch being a gulch to Dorothy herself because she attempted to trap her and avert her from meeting the Wizard.
In the beginning of the chapter, she hated wearing a dress and wanted to throw a tantrum, but at the end of the chapter, she became more mature by becoming less of a hindrance to Aunt Alexandra. The final example is Dill. In the story, Dill ran away from the courthouse because “it was the way he said it made me sick, plain sick” (Lee, 266). When Dill first appeared, he was a kid who lies a lot and can cause lots of mischief, but now, he knows stuff about the world around him. Dill is learning to care for other people, unlike back in part 1 when
Amy drastically changes her appearance to become much plainer, and this is significant because she can finally escape from being “Amazing Amy,” which lessens the pressure of having to be perfect all the time. When Amy tells the reader how she changes her appearance, she states: I remove from my purse a pair of scissors and bunny brown hair dye. I shear off large chunks of my hair… I put on a pair of outdated wire-rim glasses and look in the rearview mirror and smile again. Nick and I would never have married if I looked like this when we met. All this could have been avoided if I was less pretty.
He also hates his father and tries live up to his capabilities. Claire is a spoiled rich girl whose parents are having material problems and she is often used by them as a weapon to get back at each other. Allison is a weird compulsive liar. She is being ignored by her parents at home and had no friends at school and thought of running away during the detention. Brian is a nerd who is constantly been pressured by his parent’s to do fine in school and his expectation for the future soon become out of his touch.
She is changing as the story continues but while her attitude changes her personality does not. Though she grows into a kind and understanding girl she remains very sassy and has a commanding edge to her. She can always tell when someone is lying and isn’t afraid to call them out on it. Even though she was a dreadful, spoiled brat, in the beginning, she doesn’t
Judy garland who is purportedly named Dorothy dale in the move the wizard of Oz is the main protagonist in most of the Oz novels. Frank Baum created the fictional character who has been idolized in the American movie culture because of the character she has played in most movies, books, animations, games and on TV. At first she appeared in the novel the wonderful wizard of Oz which was created in 1900 and thereafter, she was able to reappear in most of the sequels showing her importance in various adaptations, notably, in the 1939 film named the wizard of Oz (Pfefferman, 2013). in the movie, the wizard of Oz, she acts as a young orphaned girl from one of the farms in Kansas which was owned by uncle henry and aunt Em. Life in the farm is considered to be composed of hard work and it provided little opportunity for Dorothy to have excitement in the farm. She is able to express her desires of exploring what was beyond Kansas through the use of a wishful song of what might be lying at the other end of the rainbow. One of the richest people in the town gets a permit of obtaining her dog, Toto, and she tries to save her life by running away. She changes her mind and decided to go back home when a tornado drops from the sky and everything changes radically in the movie.
Dorothy is the protagonist of the story and a round character. She was an old woman whose husband died a few years ago. When her garden gnome goes missing she goes through mental issues when she starts receiving letters from Mr. Gnome and started having nightmares about the gnome and her husband being very ill. She tried very hard to believe that it wasn’t real by distracting herself but somewhere in the day she would always be reminded with a postcard, telegram or a nightmare.
At the beginning she has great problems with managing those children. But after she a short period of time she starts realizing that humans need more than just food and a place to sleep at. She really starts to develop a
