In order to produce superior products, Amy trained her staff to hand-make each loaf using only high-quality ingredients. Many competitors were using machines to shape and roll their dough, which may have saved time and money, but sacrificed quality.

8. What are possible solutions to the problems you have identified?
The most obvious solution to Amy’s problems is to move to a location that will allow room for expansion. There will be more room for employees, equipment, and retail space. Amy will then be able to meet the needs of her wholesale customers while also allowing Amy to take advantage of retail sales that provide higher profit margins.

9. What are the advantages and possible disadvantages of your solution(s)?
With a better location and larger space, there will be more room for employees, equipment, and retail space. Amy will then be able to meet the needs of her wholesale customers while also allowing Amy to take advantage of retail sales that provide higher profit margins. If Amy were able to find an ideal location that can meet the needs for both whole sale and retail customers she will eliminate the need for two locations, which will increase her overhead expenses. Also, with more staff and space, Amy will be able to begin to focus on developing new recipes which could help attract new customers.
