The corporation I chose to discuss is McDonald’s. McDonald’s is a publicly traded corporation that includes the following domestic companies, McDonald’s, Chipotle Mexican Grill, and Boston Market. Also in 1965, McDonald’s first went public with an initial stock price of $22.50 per share. In 1969, the McDonald’s logo was revamped concentrating more on the famous golden arches. Emphasizing on the Golden Arches allowed for an easy global transition and recognition. The global segment of the general environment is that McDonald’s has Internationally and successfully expanded into foreign markets around the world. The first country that McDonald’s expanded to was Canada. Today, McDonald’s successfully operates in more than 100 countries and has over 34,400 locations. According to the, “on average, McDonald’s opens a new restaurant every three hours”. The world recognizes McDonald’s as a truly successful American company with tasty and affordable food items. The segment of the general environment that ranks the highest between the global and socio-cultural considerations is the socio-cultural. The reason being that McDonald’s represents a very strong aspect of the American culture and a major part of the American culture is the food industry. The food industry, in terms of American food consists of a good old- fashioned hamburger, French Fries, and soda and McDonald’s mastered this concept of American food to perfection.
